Apr. 5th, 2006 07:02 amRandom thoughts before I crawl back into bed, because I can, dammit:
You know what I love? Being woken up from a sound sleep at four in the morning to pass judgment on my sister's Dorothy braids. What she doesn't seem to understand is I don't care if your hair is on fire at four in the morning. Nnnnnghgghhrrrrrf.
I am suddenly addicted to crunchy, slightly sweet, "adult" cereal. Specifically: Raisin Bran Crunch and Honey Bunches of Oats. I was a Corn Pops/Cocoa Krispies/Frosted Flakes girl most of my life, and suddenly here I am eating things that are not 93% sugar. I don't quite know what to do with myself.
I dropped a quarter out of my jeans pocket, didn't see where it went, and found my dog sleeping with his face on it this morning. We're now referring to it as "Lucky's savings." It has since been moved to the First National Bank of Dresser.
My grandmother is coming over today to have lunch (O'Carr's takeout) and watch the Narnia DVD. She has no idea what it's about, except that it's about children and magic and lions and by that nice man who is such a good Christian, and that this is all very exciting. Hee. I like watching movies with my grandmother (there's nothing quite like watching a movie with her that she hasn't seen since it was originally in the theater--in 1940), so it'll be fun.
(Re: yesterday's "most popular on LJ" list: For the record, the "abandoned web comic" I meant was
iharthdarth. But technically, I think
potterpuffs has been abandoned as well. If there are other webcomics on the list, I'm not familiar with them.)
I go sleep now.

Date: 2006-04-05 12:29 pm (UTC)My family is so backwards. My parents always want things like Cocoa Krispies or Honey Smacks, and I'm like "...lets get Cheerios."

Date: 2006-04-05 01:20 pm (UTC)I'd check the box; you're probably eating cereal with just as much salt and sugar as the "kid" cereals ... if not MORE. Just because it seems more like a grown-up food doesn't mean it is. Get this shit: yesterday I was shopping for stuff to put in Eldest's lunch for a field trip. I was looking at the snack bars. There was NATURE VALLEY GRANOLA with YOGURT right next to KUDOS with CHOCOLATE CHIPS, M&MS OR SNICKERS. On a whim I compared the nutrition information. The Kudos had LESS salt, LESS fat, and LESS SUGAR, but MORE calcium and iron.
Just don't be so sure you're abandoning your sugary roots, is all I'm saying. :)

Dude. If someone's waking my ass up at four in the geedee morning, MY hair better be on fire.
Your grandma rocks the Casbah. Do let us know how the Narnia viewing goes.
In conclusion, icon love.

Date: 2006-04-05 10:57 pm (UTC)"I have a roboclaw!" has become an awkward silence filler for me. When in doubt, bust out the iharthdarth jargon. Instant conversation! Hopefully the other participants are savvy in the ways of IHD, otherwise you have to explain.

Date: 2006-04-05 05:44 pm (UTC)I love Narnia, too, this adaptation of it is really good.
And yes, grandparents are a hoot to watch movies with, especially fantasy things that aren't completely obvious.
