Feb. 6th, 2006 02:21 pmAUGH. The eyelid twitch has come back. Which makes it particularly difficult to apply eyeshadow--I don't usually wear makeup, but since I'm working at home anyway, I started getting this urge to play practice. With colors, mostly--I loathe foundation, but I have heard that some of Lush's*^ cleansing products are so good that you won't even need it. Of course, I can't afford them right now, so I'm just going to pretend I have gorgeously creamy-clear skin and move on.
(Also, it doesn't hurt that my mother unloaded some lipsticks and eyeshadows that she tried but didn't like on me. Whee, Revlon cream eyeshadow palette in "Shell"!)
* God, I wish I had a giant bathtub and, like, all of their bath bombs right now. The one I've got is pitifully shallow, and is more like a bathpan than a bathtub, or maybe a bathsaucer.
^ I just saw a moisturizer on there, 1.5 oz, that costs seventy-two dollars ($72), Jesus.
And while we're here: good Lord, is it pissing down rain today. My dogs are deeply depressed about this because... actually, I don't know why, because they're indoor dogs, but they are. If Sister Girl hadn't needed help with an insane amount of paperage today ("Write about the history and production of chocolate," plus I think two other things and a project), I'm not sure I would have gotten out of bed at all. It's just that kind of day--curl up and hide.

Ambigrams. DUDE. As soon as I land another advance, I am commissioning one of these. Possibly as a letterhead, because I crave personalized stationery.

"Majesty of the event"? Super Bowl halftime is majestic? I think I'd giggle at that even if I didn't always enjoy the Grey Cup a lot more...

For shits and giggles, make sure you read all the supportive comments people have left him. He's a Juggalo (follower of the rap group Insane Clown Posse) so there's some Juggalo-ese in there. MCL = Much Clown Love. Yes, that's as insane as it sounds.

Lush is a nice treat, but honestly, there are cheaper things that do the job just as well (and in some cases better). However, you will get my Buffy the Backside Slayer and King of Skin bars away from me when you pry them out of my cold dead hands. Just noting.

Basically, they posted them all on Google Video:
Which is why I'm excited that this year everyone can see the Super Bowl commercials on Google Video (http://video.google.com/superbowl.html). Finally, a way to enjoy the ads without having to fast-forward TiVo through the game.

Hope the twitch dissipates, as well as your dogs' depression. All-day rain can really bring out the Gloom, can't it.

Date: 2006-02-07 03:28 am (UTC)About the skin thing, seriously, drink jasmin tea. I've got crappy skin, thanks to spending far to much time in the autralian sun as a teenager - but as long as I manage at LEAST 5 cups of jasmin (well, green actually ... but I don't like it without the jasmin in it) tea a day I look pretty good.
Its got something to do with rehydration and anti-oxidants blah blah blah.

Date: 2006-02-07 03:42 pm (UTC)Also - I played around with my "usual" eyeshadow routine lately when I went to a law school event - and I discovered a neat way to do it that I'm sure is old but I hadn't done before (http://www.cosmeticscop.com/learn/article.asp?PAGETYPE=ART&REFER=MAKEUP&ID=43) - i.e. using the darker shade under the brow instead of on the lid (look under two-toned application). I like the effect! (I realize most people probably already knew about this - I don't generally pay enough attention to these things.)

Date: 2006-02-07 04:15 pm (UTC)(And that color technique is interesting--it's literally the opposite of everything I've ever heard, which is dark on the lid and light on the brow, but it sounds interesting.)

Date: 2006-02-07 06:53 pm (UTC)I looked at the best video thing and laughed because I had seen Numa Numa before (though one of my friends made up an entire dance to the song last summer with his friends, I really wish I had a video to show you...maybe in the near future), but the "Will You Go To Prom With Me?" one was funny! And speaking of funny, this cracked me up: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4623807623312885931&q=funny+cats (it's cats acting funny, very amusing)
Oh, finished your book by the way, I love it, and am definitely going to watch Jurassic Park again and actually watch Gladiator so I will get your oh so clever jokes. I about died while reading the LotR ones, I am SO glad you read the books, because I laughed so much at the Tolkien fan jokes! Haha, especially about the gifts, that was great. But I was reading parts out loud to my brother and he was laughing so hard. So you brightened at least two people's days yesterday, thanks. :-)
