I don't know what kind of astrological twist the universe is in, but I seem to be dealing with a rash of asshattery lately. Random rudeness, basically. And that's all I'm going to be saying about that.

Working on Lost recap. Have class today; may not have it up by tonight, but that one will go up before the next one does. More pressingly, I can't find my cell phone.

Nick and Jessica split up; long national nightmare over.

Play elementary school classic Oregon Trail!

[livejournal.com profile] sapphires13: "Also, if you feel like pimping something, [livejournal.com profile] sliceofmusic is a new music sharing community that works on a rather nifty credits system. Going along with the slice theme, you get 1 lime slice per song you upload, and 1 lemon slice per full album you upload. You can use those credits to request songs/albums from people. But you can download anything uploaded on it's own/or for someone else, free of credit. [livejournal.com profile] alexthedevil made me ask you to pimp that. I had to because I'm scared of her. She has red hair and she's the devil ;_; " Well, hence the name.

Also: I think I may adapt NaNoWriMo to suit my needs and make it NaNoFiMo (not to be confused with really small craft clay) and try to finish some Black Ribbon. I like the general spirit of forcing yourself to write something, anything, and I think it could be pretty useful in getting people to finish things if they'd rather work on something they have than start on something new. But I also salute people who start and finish something new just for NaNoWriMo, so if you'd like to do what I'm doing and specify that it's NaNoFiMo, knock yourself out.

Sorry to hear that. =/ It seems like there are certain times of the week/month (full moons, maybe?) when all the rude people conspire to come out of the woodwork at the same time. They end up making me feel crabby too, and then it's one big pile of asshattery on both our parts. I hope they leave you alone soon.

And oh my gosh, Oregon Trail! Another reason to procrastinate on my schoolwork. :D

I'm sooooo glad I have nothing to do today and the husband's pulling a ten hour shift. I'm all over this one. *hugs Cleo*

NOOOO NICK AND JESSICA THERE IS NO GOD.
Seriously though, we knew it was inevitable.

I think it's rad to just work on the Black Ribbon story for NaNoWriMo. It'll get you writing, and that is what is important.

Apologies if I was any contributor to the asshattery. You could certainly do with less. And congrats on adapting Black Ribbon for NaNoFinMo -- one could argue semantics, but it seems you're in the spirit of the occasion, and you're making a literary contribution ('twill be your thesis, yes?), so good luck....

Heh, I wasn't even talking about you. I was just confused the other day because a writer without booze would be alive rather than dead, I would think, if it's booze that kills them. I wasn't mad or anything, just asking for clarification. : )

Yeah, it's one of those things that could sound threatening or menacing in the wrong tone, I suddenly realized after typing it, even though that was the furthest thing from my mind. I'm just still so puzzled, can't get past the whole "writer without booze" part....

hey cleolinda! will you pimp a really cool site called Warsheep Productions-- warsheep.worldhavens.com --cuz its a really cool way to see your fictional characters (novelization, RP gaming, etc.) come to life for a really resonable price. Thanks and I love your writing!

Y'know, I never really worried much about making sure I was working on a new WIP for NaNo. 50,000 words is only half a novel for me at best, so either way I'm either going to need to finish it after November, or start it before. I've always just figured that if I write 50,000 new words, it counts as a win. Easier that way. ;)

This is my first linkspam request ever and I'm not sure that this is how you do it, but, I found this site, http://glennferon.com.nyud.net:8090/portfolio1/index.html very amusing. It's a professional retouching business with a gallery of celebrity photos that they've done. When you mouse over them, you can see the original photo. Teh Funneh comes when you see how differen these models are once the retouching is done. It really opens your eyes to just how unrealistic our society's concept of beauty is.

2)the one where they repositioned the girl's foot is hysterical

It's universal asshattery and rudeness, I'm getting the same thing all the way over here in England. Bollocks to rude people (and asshats), I say. But I say it politely, of course, so as not to descend to their level.

Still tired, now on a sort of cosmic level after last night's signing for about 800 happy Seattle-folk (my favourite moment was seeing that Terry Pratchett had left Author Hobo Signs for me in some people's books: long lines; good signings; they have sushi here).

Heee! See, to me that's the "new" Oregon Trail, because I played the TEXT-ONLY version in the late eighties when I was like, 5. (My parents were computer programmers, and gave me their old computers to play with. I can distinctly remember being able to run MSDOS very well, but cannot for the life of me do it anymore.

Also, it was kind of exciting to have a game where the point was to get to my home (the Willamette Valley)
