God, I feel like shit. Sister Girl wakes me up at three in the morning because an ad for some movie came on her IM thing ("I've killed all your friends, Tim!") and scared her so stupid that she had to sit in my room and talk until she could go back to her own.

It was five am before I got to close my eyes again.

Typee: still boring. Although I enjoy how Tommo, the Melville stand-in, asks Toby to run away into the jungle with him because Toby is, essentially, the cutest boy on the ship. It all had a very "Do you want to shirk duty and flee the oppressive confines of civilization with me? Yes/No/Maybe" feel to it.

I think I need sustenance.

LOL That's just like me. I'd run to my sister's room and yak all night

Haha! I do that too! When I can't sleep, I go into my older sister's room and try and force her to talk to me. And if you've seen Potter Puppet Pals, I will go up to her bed and just start poking her and saying "bother bother bother" until she'll wake up and talk to me. I'm a lonely insomniac. hehe.

hehe, Ron's 'Bother' is classic :)

Yeah, but it does help, doesn't it, to talk to her?

Hope you're feeling less drained soon. ;)

I'm saying, man. But knowing my sister, I was just glad she didn't want to get in the bed *with* me.

So which did Toby circle? Will they be holding hands on the schoolbus from now on?

"Yes," apparently, because they've thrashed through the jungle and been captured by "cannibals," except maybe it was more of a "maybe" because Toby has now run off and left Tommo with the cannibals, who... really seem to enjoy feeding and bathing him and carting him around.

Ohmygod, I *hate* those AIM ads that suddenly start talking. They've freaked me out before, too (and probably the only reason I didn't run to somebody else was because I was alone in the house at the time). Much hate.

And I know the girl in your icon-- my friend and I watched the movie she's in when I went to visit-- but I cannot for the life of me think of her name!! Argh. I do remember that I want the little foxsquirrel thing on her shoulder as a pet, though. No, I can't think of its name either. LOL

Any court in the land would let you off with merely a warning, I'm sure.

"Ms. Cleolinda, you are forbidden from duct-taping your sister to her bed in future, no matter how high the provocation may be. At least try not to do it again. *SLAM* Case dismissed."

Odd. I was awoken at three this morning by my friend Miles, who I normally adore because he's so gay that he makes Carson Kressley look homophobic. But he wasn't frightened or anything. He just forgot about those nifty time differences.

You need to teach Melville... go between the check-note feel of Typee and the jockeying (ahem) for attention resulting in the death of handsome, pretty, beautiful Billy Budd and... yeah. Naval, 19th-century HoYay, ahoy!

AIM sucks. The Cry_Wolf trailer consists mainly of a conversation in AIM where the "wolf" tells the guy that he's killing all of these people on campus, and that this dude will be the last one. It's creepy, but watching it on AIM would just be too much. I don't totally blame your sister, but the waking you up at 3am is certainly worthy of your anger.

I presume she's younger than you? This sounds like a younger sis seeking comfort from older sister. I know, I've been there with my sister. Which is exactly why I moved out at 18. My sister now annoys me by phone, which I can ignore at 3 am. Then again, she sometimes does that thing where she calls my home #, then my cell, then my house, over and over and over again until I pick up. When I do, she's not on fire, she just saw something on TV she thought I'd find funny or something. Arg.

The point of the whole thing is... I feel your pain, dude.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, *that's* the name of the movie. We were desperately trying to figure out what it was, without actually, you know, listening to the AIM sneak attack again.

She's seven years younger than me, yeah. Which is great, except that she's NINETEEN. If you're old enough to drive and vote, you're old enough to go to bed by yourself.

i didn't move out of my mom's house until i was 21. i'd never bug my big sis because she's a terror when woken up, but i'd always crawl into my mom's bed if i saw something scary. she didn't mind.

i didn't have to really deal with my fears of stupid things until i lived alone. i would still get scared, but when i'm alone, there's no one to calm me down, so i have to do it myself. i'm a huge horror movie'ghost story buff, but i finally just put all of that aside so i could sleep at night.

fortunately for me, in the past 2 months i've acquired a boyfriend who loves to sleep over and 2 roommates. it's back to the scary books and movies i go! the boy can deal with my curling up next to him at odd hours. he doesn't have much of a choice when he's already asleep in my bed. heee!

I vote for "unintentionally funny." It's hard to be seriously scared when you're in the presence og JBJ's hair.

LOL, thanks for that. I needed a giggle this afternoon. "scared in the presence of JBJ's hair," that's classic.
Have to admit, though, at three in the morning, I can see how the trailer would be especially freaky.

Sounds like my sister when she was 5 and saw Ghostbusters, causing her to sleepwalk into my parents bed every night for the next 5 years. Me, you could show nightmare on elm street over and over and I'd sleep like a log. Although the tree outside my window was very Poltergeist and sometimes freaked me out. Damn streetlight across the street!

Reason #173 why I prefer Macs: AIM for Macintosh doesn't get ads.
But yeah, if that had happened to me, I'd totalyl wake up my sister and cry. Which is sad, because I'm the older one. Overactive imagination + sheltered childhood = suck. Let your kids watch sc ary movies, guys. Otherwise they grow up into me.

Thought this might be of interest ...

You have Nausicaa as your icon! I approve. I was just on vacation in New Hampshire, and spent the better part of the trip curled up in the hotel bedroom with the portable DVD player. And Nausicaa was one of the films I watched.
