actually, most telemarketers are sneaky and block caller ID. many non-profit and political call centers show up as 800 or 888.

Being from Florida and going to PA for school, a lot of people have my number that are NOT from my area code. Actually, now that I think of it, ALL of them are not from my area code. In any case, I am so happy you posted this. Awhile ago, I got a phone call in Mexico that I couldn't get to fast enough, and I figured out it was Pittsburgh by scrolling through numbers until I got to "L"...

Have you ever given your cell # out when leaving info for any sort of political cause? Because I'm getting three and four phone calls a day from various assorted Democrat causes (the DCCC, Grassroots Dems, Moveon, the DNC) that they pulled off my Kerry donation info; they're all looking for money as they gear up for Supreme Court Nominationpalooza.

They never leave messages, either, so that might be it. Did you try calling the number back?
