Don't worry, Emily will be a hurricane by Friday morning over Puerto Rico. They're not freaking out about her yet because she looks like she's going to hit the east coast of Florida, but they ARE freaking out because this is the most active early season EVER (for reals) and the odds are FOR us taking one up the poop shoot soon and then bye bye New Orleans. At least we won't have to worry about the Saints anymore...Don't provoke the hurricane Gods, yo. To have this many named storms this early in the season is some end of the world shit. Cuba took the punch out of Dennis as did the cooler Gulf waters. But Dennis was a storm more likely LATER in the season (August, September a la Ivan) so just wait, sister. We got a looooooooooooooooong way to go.

Amen to that. I'm in Mobile, and I never lost power. I feel bad for everyone in Florida, but at the same time, I want to go to the weather channel people that are still in town and slap them. Making us believe we're all going to die under sheeting rain and 20ft storm surges. I've seen spring showers worse than Dennis.

I flew into Mobile from Alaska with my grandmother and we woke up the next morning and were like "OMG DENNIS!" *run away to Hunsville* and it turned out to be a dud

at least in Alabama.. I heard it was MUCH worse in Flordia

Replace the {} with <> and it won't show up on your page or your posts. Just make sure not to place it with in the code.

A free way to have an invisibly tracker. I use it on my lj and it works like a charm.

So it's not totally unrelated, I live in central Florida and I was relieved to watch Dennis go by as well.
