Jul. 10th, 2005 11:25 amApparently Dennis is going to hit Birmingham in about three hours (2 pm CST), and my mother is freaking. OUT. It's a very quiet, controlled freaking of the out, but there's a lot of last-minute clothes-washing and cookie-baking and battery-buying going on chez Cleo, let me tell you what. I mean, I don't want to lose power (if nothing else, losing the air conditioning will SUCK) and I sure as hell don't want to lose water, but as long as nothing is flung through the windows/walls/roof of the house, I'm thinking we'll be fine. We're halfway up a hilly cul-de-sac; flooding won't affect our actual house much.
My internet had already started fritzing in and out when we got some early rain yesterday (happy birthday,
valkyrie79!), so I suspect I won't have a connection much longer. This may be the last you've heard from me for a while, but I suspect the only danger we'll be in will be killing each other out of boredom (knock on wood).
Shit, I forgot to do that Empire recap, didn't I?

Date: 2005-07-10 05:12 pm (UTC)Be safe, Cleo. I hope everyone else who is suffering/experiencing Dennis is all right.
On a horrible note, I can't help but think of Holy Grail.

Also, MSNBC is saying that Dennis has just been downgraded from Cat. 4 to Cat. 3.
