Lolled abed until about ten. Checked email, posted on a couple of boards/journals (as is my wont). Had lunchfast with Mom (oddly, she wanted cereal herself; I just broke out the toaster waffles again). Went for brief swim--about 15-20 minutes, because I am, in fact, the whitest Celto-Saxon white that ever whited, and didn't want to burn on my very first day back out in the great outdoors. Came back in. Washed hair (I enjoy a good thorough semi-metaphorical hair-washing after the completion of any major project). Did load of laundry (hey, I need to go put that in the dryer now), because dirty towels wait for no man. Came downstairs to check email again. New upgraded modem for own computer has arrived, but have not hooked it up yet. Still, it's here, and I'll be back in business soon enough. Got email from college friend I haven't seen since graduation (yay!). Rued fact that BPAL orders will probably take another month to get here, and the new one-day-only Lunacy update will be up next week, and I can't afford it at the moment, and woe. I mean, I need to sell off my Sideshow/Weta Minas Morgul and the Gondorian helmets that came in the other day, but I don't know if they have Appreciated in Value enough yet, and I doubt I'd magically get the money in time for Lunacy on the 22nd. (*shakes fist at Vladimir for sucking me into polystone addiction, which doesn't even smell pretty*)

Thinking about next project to work on. I may polish up that "Lucky Penny" story, if any of you remember that--the ending was always problematic--and see what we can do with that. And then there's the last two chapters of Black Ribbon--chapter and a half, really. Hmm.

Question: How long does it usually take BPAL orders to arrive? I had a friend order me stuff stuff (*mourns lack of plastic money*), but I don't want to start harrassing here with "Didja get it yet??" until a reasonable amount of time has passed. :-) Thanks!

Well, everything's hand-blended only after the order's received, so due to an upswing in popularity, recent illness, and a staff shortage, they're saying on the front page that we're looking at turnaround times of 30-40 days now, and maybe a bit more. I think I got a late March order in mid May. You can go to the alchemylab community here on LJ and get imps a lot more quickly (and just as cheaply, if not more so), though, and when I had spare cash that's how I spent the wait.

You wanna bet? :) I probably white a lot whiter than your white ever dreamed of whiting (if you wanna put it like that). I am totally prepared to battle you for that position, but you'll have to wear sunglasses. :)

On a completely different note, I actually need to go change the laundry now, too. Thanks for reminding me. ;)

Bring. It. On. I'm so white, I got a massive sunburn after thirty minutes of French class outside one time.

Isn't it nice to have options? My advisor just took off for a month's vacation in China. Free! Oh yes, and my revised paper is submitted.

Whiter even than Nicole Kidman?
I find that hard to believe...

It was the year after I graduated high school and I ran into one of my former classmates. She was working at a deli and fixing my sandwich. I was watching, when I realized she was so pale I could see through her skin. I paid, said my goodbyes, left a tip, and went off to be squicked out of eyeshot.

Oh, I'm extremely white as well. Yesterday I sat outside reading for maybe twenty minutes and my upper arms got burned. It's horrible. And.. do you have your own pool at your house</>i? If so, I'll be over here writhing in jealousy, kthnx.

Dude, now you know why I still live at home. I mean, usually I go with the whole "supporting me out of the kindness of their hearts while I go to grad school and write my first book" thing, but... it's totally the pool.

Yes, polystone addiction is bad, especially when one has to hide the collection from one's parents and can't even *look* at the pretty stuff...
I wish I had money - I'd be willing to take that Gondorian Helms collection off your hands :o( But the parents have totally limited by funds :o(

And did you ever get a chance to catch up on Veronica Mars? It's re-airing on Wednesday nights...

You can make over $500 on those two! The Morgulito is tracking between $225 and $305 (http://www.toytracker.net/weta/tracking/weta.html/9711), so good luck with your sale, and the helms -- well, they just came out, so the market might experience a little flood, but they're actually in the same range (http://www.toytracker.net/weta/tracking/weta.html/9500) as the Morgulito. Any way you cut it, you're more than doubling your investment -- and if you need to sell something, sell the Morgulito, as that one is going for 3-4 times its original price now. The helms will significantly appreciate in the coming months.

But let's not talk shop! You're accomplished and rested and happy and greatness is ahead of you, and I can't tell you how happy it makes ME feel.

*huuuuuuuug*

Unlike apparently most of you, I was semi-blessed with pale but extremely sun-resistant skin. The only part of me that ever burns is my nose, but I expect that because it's such a contrary feature -glares at beak-like proturbence in mirror-.

Anyway, congrats on finishing everything just in time for summer hols. If I were you, I'd take a couple days off to recharge, but then again you might be one of those energizer-bunny types I envy so much. Ah well, off to scarf down a few more brownies before studying for my French exam. Zut alors!(does anyone know what that means?)

Lolling is good and to be enjoyed. And not to be a total igmo, but where do the Lunacy updates show up--LE or S&N?

I have a short story I'm taking wee swipes at. Mostly when I should be balancing my checkbook.

LE, I think, but check both. Should be out on the 22nd--check late the night of the 21st.

Am not any shade of white by any means -- that distinction is reserved for my darling mother. My skin genes are from my dad, which is to say that I am usually a golden brown to start and then tan ferociously after 30 seconds in the sun...

Lolling about in bed till ten sounds absolutely self-indulgent.
I can't think of anyone who deserves it more.

Cheers!

Did you know somebody sells Heroine Addict pins? My friend sent me one from New Jersey. It's just got a needle on it though, no picture of a rockin' chick. I think it might be Hot Topic, as that is where said friend is currently working/hating every human being she comes in contact with.

Remember the days when getting up at 10 was getting up early? I miss those days.

Anyhow, if you ever were to bottle your magical motivation magicalness, would be so kind as to give me the first crack at it? Thanks ever so.

Well, well, well. Can we say, "PR firm," girls and boys? Teresa (of Making Light) has just written a nice post (http://tinyurl.com/bedl9) on the phenomenon of PR firms making use of blogs to spread "buzz". This anonymouse's comment sounds like a prime example of the genre.
