Jun. 16th, 2005 03:14 pmLolled abed until about ten. Checked email, posted on a couple of boards/journals (as is my wont). Had lunchfast with Mom (oddly, she wanted cereal herself; I just broke out the toaster waffles again). Went for brief swim--about 15-20 minutes, because I am, in fact, the whitest Celto-Saxon white that ever whited, and didn't want to burn on my very first day back out in the great outdoors. Came back in. Washed hair (I enjoy a good thorough semi-metaphorical hair-washing after the completion of any major project). Did load of laundry (hey, I need to go put that in the dryer now), because dirty towels wait for no man. Came downstairs to check email again. New upgraded modem for own computer has arrived, but have not hooked it up yet. Still, it's here, and I'll be back in business soon enough. Got email from college friend I haven't seen since graduation (yay!). Rued fact that BPAL orders will probably take another month to get here, and the new one-day-only Lunacy update will be up next week, and I can't afford it at the moment, and woe. I mean, I need to sell off my Sideshow/Weta Minas Morgul and the Gondorian helmets that came in the other day, but I don't know if they have Appreciated in Value enough yet, and I doubt I'd magically get the money in time for Lunacy on the 22nd. (*shakes fist at Vladimir for sucking me into polystone addiction, which doesn't even smell pretty*)
Thinking about next project to work on. I may polish up that "Lucky Penny" story, if any of you remember that--the ending was always problematic--and see what we can do with that. And then there's the last two chapters of Black Ribbon--chapter and a half, really. Hmm.

Date: 2005-06-16 08:24 pm (UTC)You wanna bet? :) I probably white a lot whiter than your white ever dreamed of whiting (if you wanna put it like that). I am totally prepared to battle you for that position, but you'll have to wear sunglasses. :)
On a completely different note, I actually need to go change the laundry now, too. Thanks for reminding me. ;)

Date: 2005-06-16 08:55 pm (UTC)I find that hard to believe...
It was the year after I graduated high school and I ran into one of my former classmates. She was working at a deli and fixing my sandwich. I was watching, when I realized she was so pale I could see through her skin. I paid, said my goodbyes, left a tip, and went off to be squicked out of eyeshot.

Date: 2005-06-17 12:02 am (UTC)Anyway, congrats on finishing everything just in time for summer hols. If I were you, I'd take a couple days off to recharge, but then again you might be one of those energizer-bunny types I envy so much. Ah well, off to scarf down a few more brownies before studying for my French exam. Zut alors!(does anyone know what that means?)
