But how does her "manipulating" an airport security guy into checking out a suspicious package (which they tell us to do all the time on the NYC subways anyway) translate into her being able to manipulate the gate attendant into getting her into a first-class seat?
She was pissed off and Boone's talking down to her wasn't exactly helping. And when Shannon's mad (or in any kind of a passion, really, we've seen), she doesn't think clearly, she just acts. It's not a good thing, but it is her personality. Maybe what she does won't accomplish anything, but in the middle of her anger she doesn't consider that. So, yeah, getting Sayid in trouble doesn't prove a point, but when Boone's treating her like she can't do anything, she'll do something just to say she did it, whether it actually has a point or not. ^_^ 'Least, that's how I see her.
