Also, 'The Black Rock' has to be the best thing ever, I still say that hatch is an giant robot eye, and the 'monster'? It's just The Others, really. A giant Nicole Kidman who's been without pampering for a few years and is HO BOY pissed.

Although my biggest fear right now is that Alex is a teenager. 16 years old at most. What's to say that the season finale won't end with her coming out of the woods riding on her unicorn and with her pet talking magic monkey and then whisking away with Charlie, Jack AND Sayid into the forest because they're all so OMGINLUV with her?

And yes, I have ventured into the Pit of Voles and seen some of the Alex fanfiction that has just about exactly that happening. Yeeeeee. It almost makes me tempted to write an Alex fiction myself just so it can be done *right*. :-D

For a huge laugh, try "Finding Alex, Finding Love". Normally I do not memorize fanfic titles, but this one was so godawful bad that it got seared into my brain. I couldn't even finish the second chapter, I was laughing so hard. It has Sayid falling utterly in love with her in, like, one minute.

Stuff like that gives me hope for any Alex fanfiction that I might come up with, though. Because I know that however weird/possibly bad/departed from what the writers are actully planning it is, it cannot be as bad as *that*.

What's even funnier are the reviews. I don't know whether to laugh or cry about the fact that about three or four people have given "WTF????" reviews, while everyone else is gushing.

I might have to go read it again, if only to see the immortal (and again, seared into the brain) "I would do anything for you" thought from Sayid after he met her ten seconds ago. I think that was when I broke something laughing. ;-D

I defer the prize to y'all. While I suspected Alex was going to be a girl, I never actually came out and predicted it. I have been keeping the "Alex might be a girl!" momentum alive, though.
