Yay calcium deposits! Mom's home and--well, she's bustling around the house talking on the phone. My stepfather basically had to come home and shoot her with an Oxycontin dart just to get her to lie down. So now they're watching season three of 24. Again.

Seriously, I am expecting actual blood to be shed over this one. Me, I'm sort of tempted to bid on a quill when those go up--one of many, writerly item, probably one of the least expensive things, less likely to involve fannish bloodshed. You know, as a "POTO in Fifteen Minutes" memento. Too bad there's a large message board full of obsessive women with large pocketbooks who will bid TO THE DEATH. ("Seriously, you guys? Sweet--I wanted to join the font community myself, but forgot what it was called. Suuuuuch a font hoooooor. Someone left a four page (!) syllabus on our semiar table, and I picked it up and immediately shrieked, "EWWW, ARE THEY USING COMIC SANS?!"

I remember a few years back when I got to college and started to see (real-life) women starting to be open about finding guys attractive, particularly in movies/TV, etc., and thought it was a great move towards women becoming more open about their sexuality--in a way that was equal to the openness men already have. So, by that theory, it's only fair that guys should be able to catch up now that girls have sort of overtaken them on the squeeometer.
