Get your pimp requests in, kids, because today's the last day of Pimp Request Amnesty Week (although maybe I'll do another one next month):

From [livejournal.com profile] theonlykow: "So I normally don't ask for stuff like this, but it is your pimp week (apparently) and despite our pastry/confection disagreements, I ask for a pimp of my new layout community, [livejournal.com profile] not_layouts. I do layouts (pretty layouts! GORGEOUS LAYOUTS!) for people for free, and although I appreciate donations of paid time and whatnot, I really only do it because I have a shitload of creativity that I have no outlet for. Also, I love layouts. Also, I get bored easily."

From [livejournal.com profile] tabbyclaw: "I wouldn't pimp normally, but I don't think anyone who actually reads my journal watches "LOST" and I <3 debating about it, so here's my survey."

From [livejournal.com profile] sapphires13: "I'm trying to increase awareness of my graphics requests community [livejournal.com profile] morethanicons. We make just about everything, from icons, to wallpapers, to whatever. But business, so to speak, is slow. Advertising in promo communities full of people advertising their Paris Hilton infused rating communities, just isn't getting the job done. Nor is it bringing me the quality of requests that I desire."

And, since You Share It apparently both sucks and blows:

Okay, I totally got one for your pimp-tastic pimp week. My community, [livejournal.com profile] tds_quotes is, well... for fans of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and a fan of the quotes from the show. And everyone who watches the show knows that every episode is quotable... so here is a place to post them and read them and HOORAY!

If you don't mind pimping something that actually costs money and because many of your readers appear to be pretty astute film lovers, if you could give the magazine I'm doing some work for a little push that would be great.
It's called Illusions and is a New Zealand produced publication about NZ film (duh). I've been doing some work updating the subscription database (actually, putting one together from scratch based on the editor's handwritten notes) and part of my job is to find new subscribers as well, if possible. Illusions is a professionally produced magazine with 2-3 issues per year. Individuals and institutions everywhere are welcome to subscribe.

Oh yeah, while I remember.

Would you mind pimping [livejournal.com profile] lost_eps? I know you've got a huge Lost fan base, and we could always do with more members. 1500 and counting!

Yay! I got pimped! (never thought I'd say that XD)

Speaking of pimps, I was listening to Jay-Z's Dirt Off Your Shoulder, and I can't seem to figure out what the hell brushing dirt off your shoulders has to do with being a pimp.

Lyrics excerpt:
If you feeling like a pimp, then go on brush your shoulders off
Ladies is pimps too, go on brush your shoulders off
This is crazy baby, don't forget that boy, I told you, get that dirt off your shoulders

Jin is going to moider me, but...I'll blame it on waking up too damn early beause I have to meet with my prof syndrome.

Jinni, the senior editor of Soap at Kiwibox.com, is looking for writers for next season. Since many of your readers are writers themselves, I thought they might be interested in checking out the soap (http://kiwibox.com/kiwisoap.asp) and sending in an application (http://www.absynthemuse.com/index.php?option=com_mosforms&mosform=3). The deadline for applications is May 12.

Would you mind pimping [livejournal.com profile] adulthpfanatics? I am planning to have "Potter Feud" games at HBP and GOF release parties. Right now, I'm conducting the 'survey' part, but I need more Potter fans to survey. You know!
Thanks so much1

That morethanicons community kills my eyes. The text is so close to the background color, I had to leave because I was getting a headache. Nolayouts looks interesting though. Thanks for the pimp.

I cannot resist the lure of pimptasticality...

Do I dare succumb to pimpination? Well... admittedly, I've clicked on every link you pimped out, because I'm a link tool, so why not?

The Live Journal Daily Quiz (http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=ljdq) is always seeking new members. It's a community that's a game show that's a comedy gag reel, only with less Bob Barker and more pudding. The mods ask six trivia questions, revolving around a theme. The players answer. The mods drink heavily, then select the best answers from the bunch. In most cases "best" has little or nothing to do with "correct". Then the mods post the answers, like this one during St. Paddy's Week (http://www.livejournal.com/community/ljdq/26935.html), everyone has a hearty chuckle, and the cycle begins anew the following week. Come on over; [livejournal.com profile] ljdq wants you!

Feel like pimping [livejournal.com profile] plan_9_from_lj? It's like TWoP and your Lost summaries, but specifically for movies. We just started, but we're sure having a hell of a lot of fun with the whole thing. :)

Goddess bless you, I'm in love with that song by The Killers. It totally reminds me of the few times I got drunk and crashed a gay nightclub to mosh to remixed 80's dance.

Thanks for putting the songs on YouSendIt, Cleo. I totally LOVE that song, but You Share It didn't want to share it with me. At all...::EVIL::

You, on the other hand, are lovely.

The NYTimes did a nice in-depth article on the Wendy's finger case from the viewpoint of the Wendy's execs, "CSI: Wendy's," that those who've been following the case might want to read.
http://tinyurl.com/d77od

Personally, I like Wendy's best of the regular fast-food restaurants (McD's, BK, Wendy's) and I hope they find out what happened.

I don't really have anything except my journal. Which, actually, if you wouldn't mind pimping that, because I can always use more 'friends'.

...

I understand if you feel that this is a request unworthy of being pimped. You're a very nice person to even offer journaltime, and I really have no idea where I'm going with this, so I'll just hush now.

If you need a place to host those songs without worrying about the downloads running out, I can do it at my site. I'm not even going to say how much BW I have left, because it's shameful.

Date: 2005-04-22 03:18 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
How do you get all that bandwidth, anyway?

(If these run out--I can't tell how many people stuck it out through the youshareit downloads--you may be hearing from me.)

Date: 2005-04-22 03:22 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] bibliotech.livejournal.com
(http://www.dreamhost.com has a special where you get 2400MB of space, 120/mo GB of bandwidth, for $9.24--and that was the price for the year, not per month. You can still get it, if you sign up for a year and then put '777' in as the discount code. I keep trying to break my BW, but so far I haven't even hit the halfway mark.)

If you need 'em, they'll be here (http://sweetspontaneous.com/files/music/The%20Killers/). I thought I was the only one that was having trouble with the YouShareIt links...they took me almost an hour to download. But I wasn't going to bitch, because, hey, free music.

Duuuuuude. I may have to sign up for that just have a place to sock stuff away. My current domains--dailydigest.net and cleolinda.com--are actually hosted on Geocities, Webhost of Kings.

Oh, woman, you need me to hook you up. Not only can I get you better uptime, space and BW, I can probably do it for less than what you're paying. Hell, my main website is at a host (http://www.hostndezign.com/) that gives me 5 GB space and 80 GB bw a month, and costs me $5/mo. Plus, they're only down for about 5 minutes a month, if that. (And now that I've said that, they will crash and burn into oblivion.)

...okay, my inner geek just took over. Disregard her, she's squeeing right now about MySQL and writing code on the back of her hands.

See, the reason I like Geocities--or a souped-up Geocities disguised as my own domains--is because it's dead easy to use and update the pages. I use frickin' Page Builder. I'm kind of hopeless that way.
