Are there any Josh Groban fans who post on this board? Because I'm a total stranger to the fandom, and think I might need help with something 15M-related. (Edited to clarify.)

Oh, and re: Veronica Mars. From [livejournal.com profile] spectralbovine:
Heh. Yeah, VM is safe. FOR NOW. So a link to Mars Investigations, our site aimed at getting new viewers caught up so they can become addicted and boost the ratings for next season so we don't have to go through this shit next year, would still be much appreciated. Plus, we have all these cool interviews with various cast members. Including Teddy Dunn.

Oh wow! Thank you! I expect three thousand hits in the next hour, now.

Also, I think you need help if you like Josh Groban. (He annoys me with his ruining the best music in Troy and singing at the Super Bowl and his oh-my-God-I-am-so-operaticness.)

But I won't hold it against you.

Oh to actually post on a message board... <33 Groban.

I don't--the first time I'd ever heard him in my life was at the Oscars. Before that, I was only vaguely aware that he and Clay Aiken are two different people. It's more a matter of needing someone on the board to run 15M-related interference for me.

I wonder if you've heard, ABC is showing Chamber of Secrets on May 7th, sprinkled in with the commercials will be sneak peaks at Goblet of Fire.

That's a smart idea. Because I would completely be in love with Veronica Mars, I'm sure, except that I never started watching it in the first place. There's lots of shows like that, where I would be watching them if I could just figure out what the hell was going on.

Thank you for the link! I have recently become addicted to Veronica Mars without having seen an episode, so I am trying to get caught up.

Ha! How did you become addicted without having seen the show? Did the fandom rub off on you?

I've only heard the guy sing once, myself--I just don't feel comfortable charging onto a message board and saying, "Uh, did you get the 'Blah blah in Fifteen Minutes' idea from my stuff and you're just not saying so, or did you legitimately come up with it on your own?" Not that it matters, I suppose, as I can't do much about it either way.

This is off topic but:

Once you posted about your fear of eye things, like the Michael Vartan Alias eye thingie and all these people posted about their fears. One person said their mom was afraid that when she sat on the toilet a snake would charge out and bite her, and every time I go to the bathroom at nite in the dark all I can think about is a snake popping up and biting me in the vitals and it's ALL YOUR FAULT.

Just thought you should know.

:)

PS. Me and my friends call Josh Groban The Tall Hobbit.

Yeah, and it wasn't even really "in fifteen minutes" either--nothing that has a "Part Deux" can be fifteen minutes, y'all. I tried to read it, but my eyes glazed over... so.

Hee. The power of fandom overtook me. I now know more about it than my non fandom friends that actually watch the show.

It's pretty easy to get hooked without ever seeing an episode when everyone on your friends list watches it and certain people (*cough*) keep talking about it on AIM and telling you how much you'd love it. ;) I knew all the character's names, relationships and most of the backstory before I ever saw an episode, and I, too, knew I'd like it -- I just resisted because I couldn't watch on TV (fucking Canada) or download (and at first I thought it would get canceled and wanted to avoid that experience again -- residual Wonderfalls disappointment, there). I'm just sad now because by the time my friend sends me the episodes on DVD, all the "new episode!" excitement will have died down (not to mention I know I won't be able to avoid finale spoilers).

But anyway... [livejournal.com profile] ayn_rand_fan_13, I completely understand. I know more about all kinds of shows I have never seen (Everwood, Joan of Arcadia, Queer as Folk) than many people who actually watch them, thanks to my friends list.

I just commented on an Alias commercial during Lost in passing, and I think it showed some bad guy lowering a giant hypodermic needle down towards Vartan's eye or something.

Exactly. But then you posted about fears and BAM! I can't pee at nite in the dark without worrying about snakes!

I've never actually watched Alias...I hear it's good though. I saw part of one episode where she kissed this bad guy because she was undercover and he was like oooh yea baby...it was highly amusing.

Hey, I just noticed that you're using Sitemeters on every post. I'm not sure how you've got it set up, but I've found a way to cheat the system and make it invisible even on a free account, if you're interested. Personally, I've added it invisibly to the free-text section of my component view, so that anytime anybody loads my page, either the main one or a comment view, it counts it, but it doesn't count if they just read it in their friends list. Putting it somewhere not a post requires some minor use of the Advanced Customizations section, though, which you may not be comfortable with. You can probably make it invisible inside posts without delving into that, though. Maybe. I shall test.

Anyway, let me know if you're interested.

do you know if there will be a second season?! i always just assumed there would be, and then my fiance mentioned reading something about there only being four episodes left, and i guess it sounded like that was all that was left of the show ... forever! but i'm really hoping it was just talking about this season. cause i LOVE the show!

Well, I was emailed that someone wrote a Something-or-Other-Groban-Related in Fifteen Minutes, with no mention of getting the idea from me (which, honestly, they might not have), but there's nothing I can really do about it anyway since I don't have a trademark, and... yeah. But someone happened to do a little digging, and they found a whole thread devoted to "POTO in 15 Minutes," which would suggest that people on the board ARE aware that it's the title I use. I don't know if that makes it better or worse, but... basically, I kind of wanted someone to go over there and find out if they were aware. And now I know they are. So... that's that. (But thanks. You see why I didn't just want to march over there.)

Sorry for the complete randomness of this question, but I've been wondering about this for at least a week.

How are you getting your SiteMeter counter on every LJ entry? Are you just pasting the html coding at the end of each post, or is it something with your layout?

Thanks. :)

There's some extremely complicated way to go into your layout and embed some kind of code that I am not leet enough to hack, so--yeah, I'm just manually pasting it at the end of each entry. I just keep the code in a txt file on my desktop for easy reference.

Ah, okay. I'm trying to keep tabs on certain posts on my political journal (like, which topics are more popular or at least viewed/linked to than others). This is one of the many of the annoyances of having a hosted blog instead of your own domain.

Of course the compromise is getting full blogging software and hosting for like, $2 a month.
