Apr. 8th, 2005 07:22 pmNnnngh. Feverish again. On Allegra D now, so we'll see how that works overnight. Just got a text message from Vladimir, who's in Germany, so that's nice. May have just made a major breakthrough in figuring out how to type messages on my phone, so that's also nice--oh, look, there's another one. Hee.
Spent most of class gaping stupidly. Small seminar class (eight people), so this is bad. However, the one guy in our class actually baked us a cake from a recipe that's been in his family four generations. Homemade icing, too. No, he's straight. Yes, he has a girlfriend (better luck next time, ladies). Was all right otherwise, except for reminders ofmortality presentation I have to do Wednesday. File under "worst timing ever."
Think I may have decided what to write term paper on--has to be about "aesthetics" and "sentimentality"-and/or-"sympathy" and a modern example thereof. Figure I'll kill two birds with one stone and put my many, many Titanic viewings to use. (Hey, if C. can do Sex and the City, I can do Titanic.) Will be about the dueling themes of rebellion and community in the movie, I think. Fnarrr.
Homework for the week after that: watch The King and I. Then we're going to workshop drafts at an Indian restaurant. God bless grad school.
Must go fight with Sister Girl for possession of thermostat. Sixty-five degrees outside and she has the frickin' heat on. Plus parents have the fireplace on--yes, "on"; gas logs--downstairs, and the heat always rises and stuffs up my room. Not hers; just mine. Cannot art under these conditions. Philistines, all of them. *shakes fist weakly, bursts out coughing*

Date: 2005-04-09 01:45 am (UTC)Tell your family that you will covertly drink from every glass they use for the next two days if they don't comply with your temperature demands. If that fails, you must resort to desperate measures.
Lick the thermostat. :o)

Date: 2005-04-09 01:45 am (UTC)"Ohh, honey! Are you sick? Ya know, something IS going around. Make sure you sleep and get plenty of fluids. Do you want some soup? I made some homemade chicken noodle. I'll bring it over. No, don't worry, I made it in the crock pot - so it is no trouble. I'll pick you up some Ny-Quil too. Do you need me to go to the grocery store? No? Do you want some magazines or something to read? Okay, you just rest, honey. I'll be over with the groceries and to drop off the soup in a little while. Call me if you need anything else. "
Hugs and hope you get better soon.

Date: 2005-04-09 02:53 am (UTC)And, you know, Gerry's missing you, too. See - here's he's trying to cure your cold by the sheer force of his Scottish animal magnetism (http://www.gerard-butler.net/4images/details.php?image_id=9419). If that doesn't work (and if it doesn't then girl, you're probably terminally ill) he's got a Plan B (http://www.gerard-butler.net/4images/details.php?image_id=9487). Because a big, um, sword will cure just about anything.
