"The hiiiiiiiiiiiills are aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive with the sound of muuuuuuuuuucus..." (Snorrrrrrrrrrrrrrk hack hack!)

Please, somebody kill me. I want to die. I wouldn't even go to class today except that a good friend of the professor's is coming to present on sentimentality in The Scarlet Letter, and the professor's been so excited about it for weeks now. Oh, and that I'm running out of days I can miss without penalty. I seriously just want to lie down and drown in my own mucus. I mean, hell, that's what's happening anyway.

Jaysus, your sick and your still laugh out loud funny.
Oh, how I envy you that (not the drowning in mucus part, however.)

Get well soon.

Aw, poor Cleo. ::offers tissues::

But hey, it sounds like an interesting lecture. And I hear you on the nonpenalty days-I'm running out m'self.

that is probably the most disgusting thing I've heard all day...

Maybe you could lie in a bathtub and just drown in your mucus... but that would not only be the MOST revolting way to die, but it would also be REALLY sad... i'm not sure i'm ready to let you go yet... so you'll just have to stay, sorry about that.

Try taking Zinc tablets... they help colds and flus more than anything else i know of.

Yeah, I dug up my bottle of zinc tablets yesterday, plus a multivitamin. I can't tell if it's doing any good, except that it always has before, and I shudder to think what this cold would be like *without* the zinc.

If I could take your head cold as my own I would so you could get everything done then I would. I'm currently checking to see if God will allow that.

If you can find the stuff Bija makes awesome teas for getting rid of colds. Cold Stop Tea is the best stuff ever. (http://www.florahealth.com/flora/home/canada/products/tg7.asp#3950) Relief, plus it actually helps make you better.

Also RespirTea is fantastic stuff for the same reasons, but its extra good at relieving cold symptoms. (http://www.healthmart2000.com/item72.htm) The fumes alone will clear your sinuses, and the tea will clear up a scratchy throat and helps you breathe easier again.

If you dont have any of these specific brands in your area, they list the ingredients at the sites, so just buy a tea (or several teas. Its pretty cheap stuff, really) with some of the same ones. Ideally, peppermint, eucalyptus, and ginger. Echinacea wont hurt, but you're probably too far into the cold to do you much good (you have to hit it with echinacea early, when you are just getting it).

Good luck and i hope you feel better soon!

Your song reminded me of the part in Ferris Bueller where he makes a cough-song on his nifty computer keyboard thing. Hee!

But I do hope you feel better.

Nooo!

You don't want to die with a head cold, you'd be all cranky and wouldn't enjoy it.

Hope you feel better soon (back, foul mucous -- leave this body! The power of zinc compells you!)

The Sound of Mucus

The throats are alive with the sound of mucus
With the phlegm they have flicked for a thousand weeks
The throats fill the mouths with their gobs of mucus
The mouths try to push it in their cheeks.

if you do the herbal thing, I've found that Bee Pollen dries me up enough to function for a while. Just make certain that you're not allergic to bee pollen, otherwise it might not have te same effect, y'know?

You and me both. Woke up dying of cough, which is totally NOT the best way to get out of bed. Then the nice nurse practicioner lady at the student health center gave me cough medicine with Codeine and now I'm better.

I mean, drowsy, a bit delirious, and possibly working up a narcotics addiction, but I FEEL better.

oh i know the feeling...i usually carry a tissue box around with me and then use most of it up within the hour...and by then im usually so pathetic that when i need to wipe/blow my nose i use the driest (is that a word? or is it speled right?) dirty snotrag...when i was younger my nose was constantly red and i would dig tissues from the garbage...we've got it on film in fact...*was a sad, sad, child*

mucinex
vicks vapor rub
clariten clear
peppermint tea
green tea
NyQuil (if the cold is keeping you up at night, then have no fear! cause this stuff will knock. you. OUT.
