AH GOD I HATE HEAD COLDS. I'm sitting here in my pajamas (still), sweating to death even though the air conditioner's on 68. I'm pumped full of sinus medication and zinc and multivitamins until I can't see straight, and I've got a neverending supply of grapefruit juice just for good measure. The cough hasn't really started up yet, but I sense that it's thinking about it. I can't taste anything, I can't breathe, and I can't sing (which really sucks, because I finally have the house to myself again). I'm back eating graham crackers (they're chocolate, actually--not chocolate-covered, just chocolate-flavored) because I can't muster up the interest or the energy to cook or eat anything else.

That said, Gladiator is going really well. It's also really strange--Prince got me through Titanic, Alizée got me through Braveheart, and it looks like Alice Cooper is going to get me through Gladiator. I am a strange little person.

Re: last night's Lost: I thought I remembered something about blood types and personality tests. I'm A positive, for what it's worth.

P.S. If you see something at metaquotes about someone doing their own "Fifteen Minutes" of something (not providing a link, because I don't want a pile-on), know that I'm aware of it and there isn't really anything I can do about it. No need to email me about it or hassle the person in question.

That is hilarious. And whoohoo for Alice Cooper....hope you feel better.

I've heard that before. Rather, my roommate heard it from some holistic person. Seh told me I should eat a lot of meat since I'm type O. Except... that I'm a vegetarian because I don't like red meat. So there goes that.

Yep, I have friends who live in or visit Japan, and it is indeed a really common question. It's basically the same thing as an American asking someone what their sign is.

If you're looking to switch cold medicines, try Comtrex Cough and Cold Non-drowsy (in an orange and yellow box). It's the holy grail of OTC medicines, I swear by it. It last for over six hours a dose and there are NO side effects.

My husband just got over a cold. Our friends turned us on to Theraflu strips. They aren't completely horrible tasting and they work instantly. The only drawback is you can only take one every four hours and they wear off after about three. They are the new necessity in our house for colds. Feel better!

Mmm, chocolate graham crackers. Honey-Maid?

Type AB- People with Blood Type AB are said to be considerate of other people's feelings and be careful when dealing with them. However, they are strict with themselves and those close to them so can seem to have a duel personality in some cases. They can become sentimental, and tend to think too deeply about things. AB Types have a lot of friends, but they also need time to be alone and think things through.

Wow! That's...weirdly accurate. Of course, the other descriptions could also fit me if they were supposed to, but this one is probably the most accurate. Which is...odd. I'm turning Japanese, I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so.

I just have one thing to say about blood types: AB negative must be the most popular 'rare' TV blood type (seeing as how it is on TV all the time). I mean, every time there's a blood type mentioned, they're probably AB negative. I even called it when Jack was asking Coma!Boone on 'Lost' (hey, I was half right, there was one AB neg on the island!).

Hope you get better, Cleolinda! Headcolds are bitches.

That's weird, because I thought AB bould be neither positive nor negative. Maybe it's another one that's like that.

I'd heard the blood-type thing before, but that's because I read a lot of manga and watch a lot of anime, and character profiles generally include blood type. I don't know what type I am; you'd think that, considering how it can basically SAVE YOUR LIFE OR THE LIFE OF SOMEONE YOU LOVE should the unfortunate occasion ever arise, more people would know what it was. I should probably find out.

I doubt reviewing the blood-type personality profiles and choosing the one most similar to what I think I'm like is going to be much help.

I've actually tried matching blood types with the personalities of people I know. The test was 90% correct overall. It's really freaky.

And it is popular in Japan- sometimes, on the music/talk shows, the blood type of a person is shown next to their name and age.

Blood. *shivers*

The last time the doctor tried to take blood from me, I nearly passed out (I got very, very dizzy and had to lie down for awhile, anyway). They ended up bringing me lots of little dixie cups of water from the cooler. The worst thing? Is that they only took one of those little tubes worth. I can never give blood, which makes me feel very guilty this time of year.

From: [identity profile] sisterjune.livejournal.com
don't let it get to you, not everyone can give blood and i'm one of the people who can't. i have bit of a phobia when it comes to needles. and i also have a lot of trouble with watching my blood being sucked out of me through a tube. eeeeeeee!
