Lostnesday. Episode 20, "Do No Harm," Jackcentric. See icon. Discuss.

P.S. Regarding last week's episode: people reported hearing "We are the survivors of Flight 815," while closed captioning (and I saw the pictures someone took of the screen to prove it) read, "There were no survivors of Flight 815." Over at Snarkfest, someone pointed out that, while they can't find the actual post, supposedly the writers confirmed over at The Fuselage (a board where the cast and crew are known to join in) that the voice on the other end was supposed to say "We are the survivors of Flight 815." So apparently closed captioning really did say "There were no," but closed captioning (as it sometimes is) was wrong.

I will leave it to y'all to discuss whose voice it actually was, although I have heard some interesting theories.

Aw man, Jack again? I mean, he had a great time last week, but really. Can't we give this one to Claire or Boone? 'Cause, y'know, both of 'em are having major life changing experiences tonight.

Wow. I had no idea what they were saying on the other end. Could that mean that Rose was right and the other half of the plane DID survive? That's some crazy stuff right there.

PS. I'm so excited about the episode tonight...according to the TV Guide with the Josh Holloway interview, Claire's definitely having her baby tonight!

Never trust the closed captioning, especially with a show this concerned about plotlines not getting out. The people doing the closed captioning might not be getting the show until the very last minute, and they're not getting the script. (Says the girl who used to get away with watching TV when she was grounded by turning down the volume on my bedroom TV and putting on the closed captioning.) Just had to say that. :)

The voice at the other end of the phone sounds more and more like Boone to me the more I re-listen to the scene. Gyah.

I listened to the cleaned-up mp3, and it is indeed "We are the survivors".

Freaky. :o

That'd be the theory I'm hearing. Note also Sawyer's choice of reading material in that ep.

ALso: I keep seeing 'Jack' but reading 'Sawyer' and going "YES!! SAWYER EPI- oh. Jack. Yuck. >_<"

Hmmm I think my brain is trying to tell me something by having them so interchangable in my mind. ;-) The poor boar is going to be so heartbroken...

The theory I'm hearing is that it was... Boone.

"A Wrinkle in Time"? Geeze, now I have to go back and read it, because I can't think how it would tie in at all.

Yeah, I've heard that too. But that has to involve wacky time-travel hijinks. Which, you know, I'm okay with, but way back when, J.J. and crew claimed everything was supposed to be scientifically plausible.

I'm scratching my head too, because while there's lots of space travel in that book, the only time travel happens right at the end when Mrs. Whatsit et al. take the kids home, "five minutes before [they] left."

and isn't there rumors that a new actor will be joining the show (the name has escaped me at the moment)? which could very well be explained if he was the voice on the other side and is a survivor from the other end of the plane (or if he's another "ethan").

Thanks! :)

I think it's only fair that if they get taken out on a date, they have to wear the dorky swimtrunks and the earflap hat. (*whimper*)

We've been under one ALL DAY LONG. It's aggravating. And, living on the Gulf, people just have to say things like, "Hey, we could have a water spout!"

*rolls eyes*

My old high school got let out early today because, well, they're all in trailers while they wait for the new school to be built. Though I'd like to point out that the trailers survived the last round of tornados just fine, while the brick junior high next door got leveled.

Yeah, that was an exciting year.
