It's a good thing I already decided (hack) I was too (snerf) sick to go to (snrrrrrrrrrrk) class today, because...

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WE CAME THISCLOSE TO CLIVE OWEN AND YOU HIRE THIS GUY?

I need to go lie down.

(Bizarre confession: I've never seen an entire Bond movie. Just snippets when I was a kid, because my mom was obsessed with them. And you know what? I'M NOT STARTING NOW.)

In those pics, he makes Tom Hanks look sexy, Tom Hanks!?!?! Maybe that's the idea... make James Bond so horribly ordinary that regular joes look sexxxy? Please tell me that's what they're going for. Either that, or he'd better be DAMN charming.

Once again, Yahoo has jumped the gun. (Wasn't it Yahoo who was posting that Eric Bana had been chosen a few months back?)

Sometimes I wonder if people don't leak news like this just to see what the reaction is. "Oh, shit, people hate the idea of this guy. Hold up on that contract!"

i may be the only one, but i would have picked Daniel over Clive, too.

he doesn't look it in the pictures, but he can pull off sexy and suave like nobody's business.

You aren't the only one! Now Clive looks dashing in a tux, but Daniel Craig is a fantastic actor. Moll Flanders, The Ice House, The Mother. It may not show in the pictures, but he has fabulous eyes.

The Bond movies have all been crap in recent years. I believe that report that says Clive Owen wasn't interested -- he's too good an actor to be in that crap.

Another reason for me not to bother to see another Bond film (I have Die Another Day for Jonathan Pryce...movie suckage for the most part)

You're not missing much - Bond film in 30 seconds

Villian: (required to be uglier than 007 as they even had to ugly up Sean Bean): *blows stuff up, catches Bond, bes all smurt and maniacal and tells Bond of his Masta Plan*
007: *thwarts sure fire plan, long useless car/plane/other-overpriced-object chases, things explode*
Villian: *dies all ickily*
007: *wins, looks smug, shags a bird, makes a very bad pun*
-FIN-

Well, I'll give Clive some credit, he's said he didn't want to play 007 as he thinks it's overdone. It'll be sad not to see him but I'll just put Croupier on again for the Bond look and drool copiously.

Daniel Craig is a very good actor who's been the best thing in some very bad movies.

Besides, Bond is a career killer for doing anything else. If you like Mr. Owen, you'll be glad he's available to turn up in a range of films instead.

...ew.

that being said, if you ever do decide you feel like sitting through a whole Bond movie, i highly suggest "A View To A Kill." why? because it's got a) Duran Duran, b) Christopher Walken (bleached blond, no less!) as its major villain, and c) Grace Jones as Walken's evil henchwoman.

seriously, even though it's Roger Moore being Roger Moore (and let's face it, the man CANNOT act to save his life), i still believe all these factors make it quite possibly the best Bond movie ever. also, need i say it is '80s-tastic? XD

Mmm, Thunderball or Goldfinger does it for me. I just can't stand Moore. Although 'View to a Kill' is my favorite Bond movie song. :D

But he's great! It may not come across in the pictures, but he's amazingly charismatic on screen. He has very magnetic blue eyes and is a fantastic actor. So, you know, hold your horses before you condemn him.
