Sin City reviews are coming in. Woe unto the one guy who's like, "But's it's about a city, and the people are sinful!"

Rhilin at Snarkfest explains Sin City to the newbies: "But I had a hell of a time explaining the thing to someone who has never read the comics, and whom I was trying to avoid spoiling. 'Well, it's about guys with guns and hookers. The hookers also have guns.' "

Songs in list format:
Things which I will do for love:
● Anything

Things which I will not do for love:
● That
P.S. I did not actually write that. Someone else quoted it; I have no idea where in the comments to that entry it is, or who did write it. But they are brilliant.

More new Harry Potter scans.

Beyonce as Bob Dylan whaaaaat?

Come back, Babymama! I didn't mean it! (Long story short: "Considering real-life events," i.e., Dominic Monaghan and Evangeline Lilly actually dating, I suggested a "Kate + Charlie 4Ever" shirt at Lost-Tees.com. Well, the shirt got sent to Kristin at E!, who handed it to Dom at some press thing, and the second link right there is him and Kristin and Jorge Garcia cracking up over it. Kristin then takes the opportunity to ask Dom if there will be any Charlie-Kate action [I guess--no sound on this computer, remember?], which--of course not, silly people. Babymama, hello.)

Oh, and my slightly used/shelfworn Carnivàle season 1 DVD set came in today (damn if I was going to pay $80 for the damn thing new). I get to add it to the pile of movies (Finding Neverland, Vanity Fair, Nausicaa--and for old times' sake, the King Arthur director's cut) I don't get to watch until I'm done with the book. I'm out of class come May, and I am thinking I will spend my first week off in a DVD haze.

Wait - they're getting Oprah Winfrey to play Bob Dylan? Why? WHY!?!?!??!?!??!?! DAMM YOUSE! DAMN YOUES ALL TO HELL!!!

...sorry, but that's just wrong...speaking of Bob Dylan, my dad and i heard the new Bruce Springstien song on the radio today...if you haven't heard it, it's called "Devils and Dust", and its this slow acusotic ballad that sounds waaaay too much like Dylan, especcially with the harmonica at the end...

I'm sorry, I'm not wrapping my brain around the whole concept of famous TV actors knowing about things that I know about - things like T-shirt slogans and.. am I being sort of naive? Am I even making any sense?

Never mind. Ending comment now.

I don't know if this was just my computer...

When i clicked on the second link "I didn't mean it" about the shirts, MILLIONS, seriously, I don't even know how many) windows opened and opened. I was clicking the closed buttun as fast as I could, and just more and more kept opening, always the same page. I even got it down to all of them being closed for about five seconds... then more again started opening in rapid succession...

I don't know if it's just my computer stuffing up, or if there is something embedded in the link that makes it open up an indefinite number of windows... It was seriously scary.

Everything else though... WAY COOL AND WAY NOT COOL. hehe.

Is it just me, or did the Harry Potter cast suddenly get a lot less cute? Except that Barty Crouch Jr. is disturbingly hot. Not even gettin' started on Voldemort. No wonder everyone wants to join the Death Eaters.

I love that list format thing; someone else on my flist pointed me to it yesterday. Yours is very nice. Heh.

And also, regardless of your name never being mentioned, it is still ridiculously cool that a shirt you suggested/designed made its way to the actors. Any idea how Kristin got a hold of it? Man, she's all kinds of good this week. First her "Veronica Mars fans are smarter than you" crack and now this.

Oh, I didn't write that one, by the way--I should clarify that. It was quoted by one of the many, many people who linked to those threads, and there were so many pages of them that I had no idea how to find who wrote that one.

As for the shirt, if you go to the first link, the comments, Kira at Lost Tees says that she sent the shirt to Kristin.

OMG, why is it that Cedric Diggory looks like the third wheel for Crabbe and Goyle? Why is it that Fleur looks not at all like a seductress...I imagined her sort of like Fuu from Clamp's "Magic Knight Rayearth"...if you read it. Just...casting looks really really crappy right now. :(

See, I kind of get what the reviewer's reaction was, because that's roughly how I felt about Miller's Sin City comics books--most of the guys are assholes, all of the women are femme fatales. Or hookers. Or hookers with guns. Or ninja hookers with sporks...you get the idea. But if you walk into the movie expecting anything BUT what I've described above, you won't enjoy the experience one tiny bit. And since I know what to expect, I'll likely enjoy myself just fine. And maybe I'll write a review of it for my Web site. If I can ever stop being lazy. Which means...probably not.

[Sin City]'s all about sack-size and the lizard brain--and as a film, it's something like pure aggression and machismo, freebased on a filthy spoon and shunted into an open vein.

Yeah, but did he like it?

And I loved the song formatting...

And if anyone has audio clips of Phreakouts from the movie, 'twould be most appreciated.
