I just saw The Jacket, and there are so many things in that movie that were left unexplained--threads that were just left hanging--or that at least The Lovely Emily and I did not understand. Sigh. Adrien Brody (who I'm not even all that fond of) and Keira Knightley were pretty awesome, however.

Aaaaaand the Fametracker forums are closing. POTO girls, feel free to come over here any time (spread the word).

(Sniff. I always told myself I'd know I'd made it as a writer when I got a thread in Publishing & Multimedia for a book I'd written. A thread! A thread of my very own! I dreamed a dream and that dream is dead! Woe.)

(I had a couple glasses of wine and a margarita tonight. Can you tell?)

Was it good despite the unexplained threads? I really like Keira, but I don't know if I want to see it.

Upon seeing it, all I could think was: what am I going to do without the P&M forums?! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?! A quarter of my posts over there are in that section. A QUARTER.

Is it bad that I automatically dismiss any movie with KK in it?

I... think I liked it. Keira's really good in it. Some of the beginning is kind of unpleasant--he's in the Gulf War, gets wounded, gritty flashbacks, etc. If you liked Donnie Darko and 12 Monkeys--it's got a similar timeline-jumping kind of thing. (Note: those comparisons do not give away the ending. In fact, I'm still not sure what the ending WAS.)

I'm heartbroken that we're losing the forums. So glad you don't mind taking some of us POTO people in. I'm trying to organize something for the Gerard Butler thread denizens as I write this. *sob*

I have a picture of Dom on the phone, and I want to put my nieces "PLIS TO ANSWER RINGER PHONE IS RINGING" on it so bad. One day she'll grow up and get me for my constant mocking of her. The lasted is "PLIS TO GET ME A POPSWACKLE FROM THE TOP PARTING OF THE FRIDGEAFRATOR!"

LATEST, not lasted. omg, I am channelling her.

Yay! I kind want to post something to that effect, except that I'm afraid that Wing will ban me. But if you're in contact with any FTers who... well, who like... uh... the things I like? Lost, POTO, movies in general, good books, hot guys, awesome chicks, I dunno...? Tell 'em that they're more than welcome to hang out over here.

(I wonder if someone will set up an FT refugee EZ board or something.)

Hee hee. And I see another obsessive Gerry fan is born. I never watch Ellen either (and now I know why--seriously strange show), but I did watch it this week just for Gerry. Hee hee! Isn't his accent fabulous? I think Scottish accents (but especially his) are divine. And I've heard American accents are considered sexy over there (especially if there's a Southern drawl). =)

I love Donnie Darko and 12 Monkeys! This makes me want to see it more.

Did you see these comments (http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/592/592862p1.html?fromint=1) by the director? They're...interesting.

Woot!

Yeah, I had never actually watched Ellen before, and while I like Ellen herself, I was sort of like, "Dancing in the audience to '80s funk with monkey puppets whaaaaaaat?"

Oh man, me too... have you ever listened to the Kate Bush version? It takes some getting used to, but I actually ended up liking it more. Songs based on gothic novels are GREAT!

... that's the only one I know. ARE there any others? :/

Pardon me for coming to the theater late (as is my wont) but exactly who is all the "plis" mocking? Because it is funny but alas, I know not what it means.

Mine are mocking my niece, but a lot of the "plis" icons are just a funny way of saying "please". I am an evil, evil person that is going to burn in hell for mocking the bad speech of little kids.

I'm not sure how it started--kinda sounds Engrish to me. All I know is, people started saying "Please for to be" whatever, and then Aralinda had "plis" On her icon, and I was just gone at that point.

Oh God. That's the kind of guy I used to see a lot in my film classes. I used to smack them about with day-old trout in my imagination spare time.
