Ah, tabulation blah Price Waterhouse blee. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, two strapping black guys in tuxes and sunglasses come out. Here's Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek. Wow, there is so much accentage going on here. I can't even reproduce how Cruz said "category." And here's a metric ton of guys in suits sound nominees onstage. I think I have The Aviator down for Sound Mixing, because the big crash is just something else. And a bunch of names are announced. WHICH MOVIE, PEOPLE? Whoa, it's Ray. I was so expecting Aviator to sweep this one up (as previously mentioned. Duh. I'll stop redunding now).
Sound Editing. Still Hayek and Cruz. More suits march out. Just four guys this time, though. The Incredibles wins.
Sister Girl flumps in. "Gahhhhh, how much lonnnnnnger is it?" "It's only been two hours," I say. "How long is it gonna beeeeee?" Oh, hon. You're new, aren't you?
Hayek stays onstage to present the Motorcycle Diaries song and lays out some Spanish smack on the song title. Salma takes it upon herself to translate some of the song's powerful lyrics for us. BRING OUT SANTANAAAAAAA! Here's Antonio Banderas and Santana. This is the one song I have actually been looking forward to hearing performed, I tell you what. I mean, it's totally Beyonce-free and features no cruelty to hair.
Okay... it's not that great. And Antonio is a little greasy tonight. But I stand by my... and now we're mobile? Banderas and Santana are wandering around. I do not put it past them to start wandering through the audience. But they don't. Man, this "trainwreck" is even a little tame.

I was hoping they shot Chris Rock, although his parking lot line was the first hit of his evening.
