Things I have learned today:

1. Chocolate is good, and possibly the secret to a happy life.

2. Chocolate automatically tastes even better if it comes in a heart-shaped box.

3. My mother is never, ever going to stop giving my sister and me random little presents on minor holidays, and God bless her for it.

4. Hershey's syrup is not an effective substitute for one's daily recommended intake of chocolate, which is so good.

5. Valentines, no matter how small, make people happy.

6. Phantom of the Opera *will* come out as a one-disc DVD, but it will also come out in a two-disc edition, which means that the Fametracker Forums girls are now putting away their pitchforks and blowing out their torches. For now.

7. There are simply no words for the craptacularity of the big lightsaber duel(s) in Attack of the Clones, and I should know, because I can't find any.

8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle valentines are awesome. (Thank you, Chesh!)

9. And thanks to everyone for the valentination in the previous entry. : )

Oh, come on! Those lightsaber duels are classic! =P

Hershey's syrup is really good with graham crackers and peanut butter.

I would agree with all of the chocolate things...except I really don't like the taste of it. But bleh. Sounds like you had a good V-day, so <333 yay!

Ah, out of curiousity-you do still check the P.O. Box in your user info, right?

Also, other than purple, what colors do you like?

I just checked it today, which is where the TMNT valentine came from. I like blue and purple, I guess--sometimes red.

Aw, I liked them! I liked AOTC more than TPM because the action was way cooler. I mean, there were clones. Who were attacking.

As for words, "craptacular" is a pretty spectacular word.

I'm just at a loss to describe Anakin Lord-of-the-Dancing around with his two lightsabers, and the constant closeups Lucas uses to obscure the fact that all the wide shots are of Christopher Lee's double with Lee's face pasted on. Oh, and Anakin being like, "Here is my arm! Please chop it off at your leisure!"

My mom is the same way, and it makes the day so much better. I think I've been single for all but one Valentine's Day in my life, and honestly--that was the worst I've ever had. :P To me, it's just a day with lots of chocolate and red.

I looked at the info about the PotO DVD (which I'm dying to see, actually... the movie, but the DVD, too), and realized that it's a friggin' two dollar difference between the list prices of the one-disc and two-discs editions. That's just... inappropriate, if you ask me, which you totally didn't.

It is bizarre, I give you that--I don't know why the single disc is priced so high, but I promise you that's not the price you'll actually see in stores.

You see? My prediction of Valentine's Day coming and going and leaving only chocolate in its wake has been proven true. I'll accept praise for this since it seems all my other predictions are proven to be completely wrong.

And I agree, chocolate from a heart-shaped box is sooo much taster than chocolate from a rectangular box.

Moms are great! My only valentine this year was from that crazy lady. She sent my roommates and I all valentine toe socks and me a special present of my "perfect man". Rainbowbrite's Red Butler doll! I haven't had a doll in so long, its kind of a crazy comfort that needs to be craved!!!
Thanks for making me happy, Cleo, by reminding me of the fun side of this day!

Perhaps not, but there may be images that will serve... For example, can you picture a poi [sp?] spinner twirling a Yoda doll with weighted feet and a glow stick glued to his hands?

I was actually soooo sad today because my mother put my package in the mail a week ago and I STILL haven't gotten it. Don't you just love that about parents? No mater what my relationship status on V-Day, I always got my mom and dad to get me some good chocolate and soothe my ego.

1. So. true.

2. So I have learned! I got a heart-shaped box from home in the mail this morning. I love my parents extra today (which is so bad of me, to be swayed by chocolate).

5. Yes! I feel bad about not doing them this year. Next year, I will.

6. Yay!!

9. Oops, a little late, but happy Valentine's day! I put a "card" in my LJ but . . . yes, you don't see that. So. Yay!

I hate those fucking duels and what George did to Obi want to get him out of the way with the passion of a thousand Aldaraans being blown to bits by a thousand Death Stars.

My mom likes to send me stuff for the holidays, too, and this year actually wrote an apology in my card for not enclosing money. This after scoring TTT for my birthday. Mom, take a holiday off, yo.

Chocolate will never be a bad thing, ever.

And Hershey's syrup is eh, but here's a recipe for really great pouring-over-ice-cream goodness, from Marcel Desaulnier's Death By Chocolate, because I adore you:

Hot "Liquor" Sauce (<=====I have no idea where the liquor bit comes from)

1 1/2 cups heavy cream
9 tbps unsalted butter (that's a stick plus a tablespoon)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup tightly packed dark brown sugar
1 1/2 cups Hershey's cocoa, sifted
1/4 tsp salt

Heat the heavy cream & butter over medium heat and bring to a boil. Add sugars and stir in until dossolved. Remove from heat and cool for 5 minutes. Add cocoa and salt and whick until smooth.

Keeps well in any glass jar in the fridge to be heated up and poured over ice cream or whatever. Because you totally won't just inhale it from the pan without even using the excuse of Breyer's vanilla or coffee ice cream. Ha ha ha! I kill me.

5. Valentines, no matter how small, make people happy.

Still not wild about Valentine's-Day-the-couples-holiday, but it seems palatable if spread among one's friends. Less 'moogly' and exclusive.

What's 'moogly', anyway? I think I stole that from you. I suppose I shouldn't steal things unless I know what they mean. :p
