Compocalypse '09: The Return
Aug. 10th, 2009 01:34 pmThis is just a quick note to say that I did take Camille back to Best Buy and exchanged her for Camille 1.2 with absolutely no problem at all. I had this entire spiel prepared about how if I couldn't even get the OS to boot then even if they fixed it I couldn't really trust the computer to not have any other problems, but I got about halfway through and the guy at the Geek Squad just waves his hand and goes, "Yeah, no, you don't need to deal with that." And they exchanged us for another CM 5570 without a peep, didn't think of some mystery fee to charge us, transferred the service plan over to that serial number and everything. And while I was there, I picked up that 1TB hard drive as well. I haven't hooked Camille 1.2 up yet just because I was like, "I gotta eat first. My low blood sugar is not dealing with this." And now I've stopped by to report on this last visit, but I'm about to go upstairs and deal with it because if C1.2 is also going to be fussy, I need to know it now.
Also, regarding the last entry--I really don't have anything against Macs or Mac users. The PC/Mac thing is a pretty personal issue (God knows why), and whichever one works for you, God bless. The first computer I ever really worked on (that wasn't, you know, some ancient rudimentary DOS-run thing in my high school typing class) was a Mac at an internship I had before college, and I really just didn't like it. I've used PCs ever since; they're more affordable for me and I understand how to use them better.
But whichever side of the divide you're on, if you want to get rude with me? Yeah. You are really not welcome here.
