Whee! Paper is done. Am desperately behind on movies and I'm going to just have to tell Ginger so--not having my glasses for about six hours yesterday was a huge setback. Woe.

P.S. I've been using this icon that [livejournal.com profile] cimorene111 made for me over at JournalFen, and I love it so much that I had to bring it over here.

ETA: Awww! So sad.

BTW, does ANYONE know how to stop a POTO obsession in full bloom? I really have to stop going to the movie and listening to the soundtrack. I am fighting the urge to go see it for the FOURTH time, today. (Pants, I have to see the Pants!)

Maybe I can replace it with another obsession. How was Sideways? Has anyone seen Closer? (OMG Clive Owen).

I don't know what to do, man--I'm in the full throes myself. The fact that the music is ear crack doesn't help, either.

(Cliiiiiiive. Have you seen the Sin City trailer? We all got mondo obsessed with that last week. Maybe that'll help?)

Eagerly awaiting Sin City even with my Jessica Alba phobia. (Clive in B&W ... Swoon. Thud.)
I hate when I get all obsessive. First the election, then the Daily Show (still in the throes of that) and now POTO. Sigh.

I've been researching gene doping for a story idea I have. Maybe it will help if I mentally cast GB as one of the characters ....

OMG, soo good, soo good.

It really doesn't help me that the movie theater I frequent has a HUGE Clive in Sin City poster in the foyer.

Sometimes I don't want to leave it.

Totally thrilled over Clive being in Sin City. My jaw just dropped after watching the trailer. I was very impressed. It's funny hearing him without the accent though.

Why fight it? The movie's been playing in theatres for 6 weeks here, so.....
Many of my friends and I have become lost causes.

And I say, if you want a Clive Owen fix go see Closer, if only for the cyber-sex scene which had me in tears.

I'm very sad about Ossie Davis. I can only imagine what Ruby Dee's going through. He was never above anything - I think the last thing I saw him in was Bubba Hotep and he was hysterical!

This was the last thing that I saw him in too, and I thought he was just marvelous and funny and moving. So so sad.

Hi fellow Ffordean! I found it at [livejournal.com profile] book_icons, but you can find a more direct path to it at [livejournal.com profile] yukon_icons's site. There aren't many Thursday Next icons out there, sadly.

Ah, the Aviator. My favourite live actress (Cate Blanchett) may win an Oscar for playing my favourite dead actress (Katharine Hepburn), who wond more Oscars than anyone else ever. My life is so meta.

PS I spent most of yesterday evening reading your Lost recaps. You are my new favourite person.

w00t Good job on finishing the paper! I hate getting new frames - it's so weird after getting used to the first kind and then the new kind doesn't quite sit the same way and you can't help but notice that there's this STUFF on your face and it helps you see but it's still STUFF and it's on your FACE and it's distracting and-

...yeah...

I'm going away now. ;-)

Oh, sad about Ossie Davis. Although, now I'm wondering if that's related to the stretch limo I saw outside the hospital on my way to work this morning. I mean, dead bodies go to the hospital, don't they?

I love Cate Blanchett.

Fugly?

Reason why you should tape movies with ads: I was watching some movie shown circa 1994 and came across an ad from when Cate was an unknown.

From: [identity profile] cinnamontwist.livejournal.com
Oh, no no. Tim Tams are one of the best things that Australia ever invented. They're chocolate biscuits filled with chocolate cream and covered in chocolate.
They're usually one of the first things expats request in a care package from friends and loved ones as they're not easily available overseas.

Eh? Perhaps 'tis because Americans are...slightly, you know...porcine already? If we bought cookies from Oz, perhaps the Australians could include hints as to how to work off the calories.

Besides, nothing is truly unavailable, thanks to the internet (http://www.arnotts.com/Biscuits/OurBiscuitsP.asp?BID=79). Oh, and to people with credit cards.

Credit cards and the internet, we salute you!

Ha! Someone needs to enlighten us also. And seeing as KFC, Maccas, Starbucks and other related houses of caloric excess adorn most of our street corners too, people here are looking slightly porcine themselves.

Damn, I am sooo gonna have to go dig out my Cher's greatest hits CD. Now I have "Save Up All Your Tears" stuck in my head. I love "Turn Back Time," as well. I vaguely remember the video where she had the barely there outfit on and performed it on some navel ship. (With a bunch of sailors screaming for her in the barely there outfit, I might add) ;)
