Whew. Titanic sample (only five pages, so don't get too excited yet) is off. Dolphin appearances so far: 3. I think the Vengeful Dolphins are going to be this movie's running gag.

Of course, now I'm so behind that I have to pull both Titanic and Attack of the Clones out of my ass by Friday. And a paper on The Wide Wide World. WHEE.

Cleo Pleads with Her Readership to Go See Phantom of the Opera, Episode 46: I was chatting with someone using the "comedy sheep" icon in a Phantom icon community the other night, and she basically said, "You know, I read the parody before I saw the movie, and I thought, 'Oh, comedy sheep, that's really cute.' I didn't realize that there were actual sheep in the movie. I just about died when they actually showed up." I keep telling y'all: I Am Not. Making This Stuff. Crack - yes, yes it is on crack. Totally.

... I totally lost it during Don Juan Triumphant thanks to you - as did my roommate and our friend. The Dread Pirate Roberts Background Dancers did all three of us in and probably ruined the movie for anyone within three rows of us.

Yeah, we call it Phantom!crack on the Fametracker thread--there are people there who are like, "I've seen it four times and I'm going to see it again I can't stop please send help."

Man, I am starting to feel really, really bad about ruining the movie for innocent bystanders. No, I'm serious. I wish we had the money to rent out theaters and have, like, Rocky Horror-style Phantom screenings.

That sounds like the most painful reverse enema imaginable.

There are portions of nonsensical text in the manuscript that were caught by our editing staff as they previewed the text for editing time assessment pending your acceptance of our offer.

That's what I thought, and, to be honest, the parts I understand write themselves. But then there are the parts where I have to stop and go, "Wait, why is he here? Why do they believe him? What are they doing? Wait--huh?" The story makes not one damn bit of sense.

I'd never paid that much attention to the lyrics in Phantom until I read them the other day and I believe Christine herself must've been on some crack. In the Don Juan scene she's raving about bodies entwining and how long do they have to wait to be "one". Then two minutes later she's going on about being a prey to lust ???? No wonder Erik ended up insane!

Did you read the Atlanta Nights excerpt? Holy hell, it was AWFUL! Like only writers can write awful. I was so impressed.

I saw Phantom with a friend of mine who hadn't read the m15m for it, and we laughed in all the same places (when i say laughed, i mean gasped for air, and clutched each other's sleeves like dying leeches, causing the teenyboppers behind us to think we were insane), i was laughing cause i was quoting the m15m in my head, and she was laughing because you are so so right about it all.

OMG link heaven! Great stuff. Oh, and did you scroll down to the bottom of the Teri Hatcher page? John Stamos is dating "waitresses and nurses" because they're regular women (he left out hookers):

"...I met this girl and we went to Disneyworld and we didn't have to stand in line and she was just so excited! That made me so happy that she wasn't jaded. That's a road that I want to be on."

I suppose it's backlash from having a highschool that was 1/3 full of pregnant girls or teenage mothers. Why? Because of abstinace only education.
