Aight, I'ma give you a completely unrequested, free-of-charge rant right here. And let me clarify first that it's not any one person who's pissing me off; it's the fact that multiple, numerous people apparently cannot read and continue to do exactly what I asked them not to.

If you like one of the "Movies in Fifteen Minutes," I am glad. I am delighted, I am overjoyed. If you repost the entire thing on your journal/website/blog DESPITE the fact that there is a clearly stated, boldfaced warning at the end that says, "DO NOT repost this parody 1) without my name or a link back; 2) with any changes to the wording or language; or 3) in its entirety on your journal, on your website, on a message board, on fanfiction.net, or on ANY OTHER PAGE ON THE INTERNET without my written permission," I WILL find out about it, due to a little thing called Technorati, and I WILL come over to your blog, and I WILL ask you, very politely, to take it down. Really, can't you 1) save us both some time and 2) prove that you can, in fact, read?

So far I've had to ask half a dozen people about Phantom/15M alone, and each person has very kindly taken it down and apologized. Again, it's not that any one instance or person that pisses me off. It's the persistence of humanity at large to delight in posting things that do not belong to them, even after being asked not to, that drives me nuts. Why? If you want to impress your friends with funny things you found, I promise you--a link to the page will impress them as much as the whole thing, AND it takes up less space in your journal. So, in conclusion: Do not post it on your blog. Do not post it on a log. Do not post it on your site. Do not post it late at night. Do not post it on message boards. Do not post it near fjords. Do not post it on your coffee cup. Post it and I WILL FUCK YOU UP.*

* Where "fuck you up" means "request depostification in a polite and gentle manner," but that doesn't rhyme with anything.

I usually post links to the community and no excerpts when I'm alerting people to the hilariousness that is your writings. ^_^

However, I did post the "entire" Passion of the Christ in 15 minutes on my journal in quotes and with a link to your LJ. Is that going against your wishes? Should I remove it?

Oh, no, no, that was just a quick joke. I mean, the whole thing IS the joke, and it's not something I'd end up republishing for real. It's all cool.

(I notice that it's always the people who worry whether they've done the right thing who actually HAVE done the right thing and don't need to worry about it anyway.)

Cuz I can't. I reposted it with links to your LJ (ages ago) and spent all lunch trying to get the strikes and context just right. There was much "OHMIGAWD GO 2 H3R Journal!" and then I wandered off.
Then a few months passed and I saw the "Do NOT Post this in your LJ".
So I went digging and damned if I can't Find It.
I don't know if I've already deleted it and forgotten in a dead panic or if it's just buried somewhere.
I think tonight (since I have a lot more time now) I'll go back, check what month you posted Troy in and then start scouring that month and the surrounding weeks.

I need to show that Technorati to [livejournal.com profile] hipstomp he nearly gets theived as much as you by those weird people that claim his life is theirs.
It's one thing to still a creativity piece of work, it's another to steal a picture of someone and to corresponding entry saying "This is my friend and we did this."
That's just creepy.

And they'll have to go to the trouble of typing and/or scanning (which usually involves manually correcting the results) from the book. I think that ought to cut down on a lot of that shit right there.

Teehee.

Ooh, I've got a question!

Over at the Council-of-Elrond (http://www.council-of-elrond.com/forums) message board, there is a Phantom thread in the Movie Forum. I know someone once posted a link in a HP thread to your HP M15M, but it was taken down due to non-PG content. So my question, after this long explanation, is whether it would be okay to post a few of the icons you made, with a disclaimer saying that if someone wants the link to M15M, they can PM me for it? I guess the icons aren't technically posting excerpts from the M15M, but they pretty much are. So just let me know. :)

Maybe you should put the warning at the beginning of the m15m transcripts as well. It seems to me that most of the transgressors didn't go against your wishes on purpose -- they just missed the notes. Since they're at the end, they might have disengaged brain once teh funny ended (or possibly midway through teh funny, it does have that effect on people). Putting the notes at the beginning won't fix the problem, but it might mean that more people notice them.

Just my two bob. ^^; Or failing that I could track them all down with your choice of pain inducing weapon. (I have a squeaky hammer. Say I can use the squeaky hammer, oh please!) And also, fjords is a good word.

Yes, perhaps you should make your caveat large and graphic, with big, red STOP signs or possibly skull-and-crossbones with the I WEEL KEEL YOU! motto or somesuch.

"The Surgeon General has proven that cross-posting entire M15M-s can cause DEATH by ENRAGED GRADUATE STUDENT and should not be attempted by pregnant women or damned-near anybody else."

How about a screen cap of Sawyer from Lost (Ed: esp. from the torture scene) with the text balloon: "I cross-posted a M15M in full and look where it got me." Make a good icon. :p
