Yay Mirrormask! The first review from Sundance is good, and the official site, I hear, is updating.

First look at Pocahontas in The New World! Who is... fourteen? And rolling around in the grass with Colin Farrell? Oh dear.

More Beowulf and Grendel pictures, in which things seem to actually be happening. They are starting to win even Vladimir over, which is impressive. (On the official site, there was also a behind-the-scenes picture of a brunette Sarah Polley wearing... something. I don't know. I just wanted to send her a hot oil treatment, stat.)

This is deep, man.

What the hell is going on in the comments of my journal?

I must find a job, otherwise, I will keep remember your stupid essay, stated that you were late, beacasue you were dated ugly Chinese woman, or you fucked ugly, ugly Indian girl in the office.
I'm sick of hearing these.
Oh, he had personal trainer at gym, beacause he was going to merry the UGLY Indian girl,
Oh, how wonderful.
Please give me the money back!

Aaaaand the rant meme going around, since there's no new Lost tonight:

1. Comment with almost any subject that you would like me to rant on, with possible definite swearing involved. Any subject - I don't even have to agree with it. [I am going to alter this to say NO POLITICS, because I like the current level of civility in my journal. Have me rant about the evils of cheese or Paris Hilton or something. Scratch that--cheese is a blessing unto us all. I can't rant about that.]

I'm also stealing Eso's caveat that she stole from Ces: Though if I can't make it funny I'll have to skip it, hence the "almost".

2. Watch my journal for your rant.

3. Post this in your own journal, so that you may rant for others.

My very own Cleo rant? This I can't miss.

Give me a rant on the most overrated (in your opinion) Academy Awards nominee. Can be an actor, director, or movie.

GO!

I stand in defense of the poncho! They are ugly as all hell, but the warm knitty ones are often large enough to hide completely under, thereby making it the closest thing available for me to use as a blanket during study hall.

I read about that whole Colin/14yo binnis yesterday, and posted it in my personal LJ as well as in one of the Native American communities I belong to. There was a completely divided response on both fronts, and I still haven't really tossed my coin in either bucket. I think I'm going to have to see the film's final cut before I make up my mind.

Here's the link to the post I made at the Native American community. Lots of valid (and diverse) points were made regarding the film.

I don't have a rant for you, but lmfao @ the drama in your journal. What the sandy fuck was that about? Seriously?

And I'll probably be watching Lost tonight, just because I'm the type who likes to comb for hints and allegations I missed before I had the full scoop. The subtle stuff, I mean. Everyone (well, almost everyone) suspected/knew Snickerbitch was a little more than kin and less than kind.

Mmmm, if you're not already loaded down with ze rant, the tendency of actresses in movies and TV-shows to go to bed and sleep with and wake-up with BLOODY PERFECT MAKEUP. Even in the middle of the Jungle! Or Translyvania! would be one I'd love to hear. ^^

I particularly liked how Anna Valerious died (from smush) with wet and raggedy hair but was sent to her final rest with perfect hot roller curls, myself. Also, I was looking at some LXG caps, and Mina's hair goes from wildly curly to stick straight over the course of a single fight scene. The turning point? Curly Mina is temporarily "killed" and wakes up with straightened hair two seconds later. Clearly, Death is the great hairdresser.

(This is not your actual rant, btw. I just needed to say that.)

Ooh ranting! A rant on an overrated / overhyped TV show would be nice. I'm curious to know which one's you dislike.

I was only 14 when I began my torrid five year affair with Burt Reynolds so I understand where this girl is coming from. In all seriousness though I don't understand why they had to get an actual 14 year old. They don't even cast actual teens in teen movies so I don't see why they would take a lovely teen girl and place her in the clutches of Colin Farrell. I wouldn't place a pet hamster in the clutches of Colin Farrell, a pet rock even. I actually enjoy his drunken crazy but placing hot teens near Colin Farrell seems like a recipe for disaster. It's like placing a zippo lighter on a stack of explosives, things are bound to blow up.

Clique...does this mean we get a special table in the caf all to ourselves?!

I will say that Colin does at least have some scruples--heard the famous story about Lindsay Lohan hitting on him like whoa in a studio lot and Colin saying, "Uh, come back when you're 18"? I don't know if it's true, but I like it.

As for the table, I guess so... hey, how's the thing going? You know, with the thing? Any sass yet?
