Jan. 21st, 2005 12:46 pmOkay, here's a brain teaser while I'm class that's sort of inspired by the comments in the last entry:
So far, I've posted "Fifteen Minutes" for Van Helsing, Dracula (1979. No other version counts for the purposes of the game), Hannibal, Hidalgo, The Day After Tomorrow, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, King Arthur, and Phantom of the Opera. (Yes, those are the only ones online. If you've read any other movies, they weren't by me. ETA: Dammit, I did forget Troy. ) So many people want Lemony Snicket (and since I never closed the Snicket-Phantom poll, it's currently leading. You know, after the fact...) that I'm going to see if I can fit that one in sometime--in the next couple of months, I mean. So you can count that one if you like.
In the book, we've got Jurassic Park, Independence Day, Braveheart, Gladiator, Titanic, The Matrix, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone, Spider-Man, Attack of the Clones, and Lord of the Rings (all three). All of these movies count as well.
Here's the game: Find me a movie with as many 15M actors as possible. I guess we can give separate points for "number of actors" and "number of 15Ms represented." (The example that came up in the comments was Timeline--four actors, four different "Movies in Fifteen Minutes." Well, three plus the future Snicket.) The LOTR, Star Wars, and Harry Potter casts ALONE should make this an interesting game.
So. I'll be gone for a couple of hours; y'all leave what you find in the comments. I don't know what we'll do with the answer, but it might well get its own "Fifteen Minutes" when time allows. That, and it's mostly just intellectual (or "intellectual") curiosity on my part. Have fun!

Date: 2005-01-21 06:59 pm (UTC)(I finally got around to watching that movie recently, and it was all I could do to keep a straight face when remembering the m15m on it. And my sister's face when I told her that Achilles and Patroclus were not, in fact, cousins? Utterly hilarious. XD)

Oh, Mel Gibson in EVERY. LAST. Lethal Weapon. There have GOT to be antagonists of his in other M15M's.
Oh! And what's that movie that just came out with Dennis Quaid and the guy from that 70's show that looks like just spiderman...
And Jeff Goldblum - god, what HASN'T he been in???

Date: 2005-01-21 07:51 pm (UTC)Hey - you left out Troy! Eric Bana was in that, as well as Black Hawk Down.
I want to say Sleepy Hollow has a bunch of them, too...but I'm too lazy to go and look. I know Richard Griffiths and Miranda Richardson are in that. (Seems like I'm missing some others...)
Oh yeah...Christopher Lee is the judge (briefly).

Date: 2005-01-21 08:18 pm (UTC)"Is a romance brewing on the set of "Lost"? USA Today says Evangeline Lilly, 25, and erstwhile Hobbit Dominic Monaghan, 28, were "inseparable" at the Golden Globes, and even engaged in some PDA. Lilly, a Canadian actress who came out of nowhere to snag the role of Kate on the smash ABC series, was supposedly spotted smooching Monaghan's neck during the evening. "

Oh... hmmm. I think that's it.
Ugh, soon I'm just going to start playing "6 degrees of Kevin Bacon" with M15M.
It's too bad you haven't done Pearl Harbor. Although I don't blame you for not wanting to sit through that.
