Today's horoscope: You've never been short on creativity, have you? Or been shy about bringing up a new idea? You'll be even bolder about it now. The good news is that what you come up with over the next few days will border on genius. Don't go anywhere without paper and pencil -- and no matter how outrageous the idea seems, jot it down. You never know. This could be bigger than Chia Pets.

Oh God, my horoscope's been hitting the crack rock again.

Somewhere, the Squishy just fell over with glee. Weirdly, this means there are now two Beowulf movies in production. (Coming Soon doesn't have pictures from the latter, but I do! I do! And now you see why I want to go back into movie news--I've got all this minutiae at my fingertips.)

Is this indeed the best Sundance ever?

As for me, my throat hurts and my eye is twitching. C'est la vie.

By the way--I'm still trying to hunt down an American Idol bootleg of Kelly Clarkson singing "Think Twice"--it's probably a two minute clip at most, and not commercially available. I lost my copy in a computer crash--can anyone hook a sister up?

Don't get me wrong - I love a good thousand-year-old adventure as much as the next girl... but are we so short on movie ideas that we have TWO movies of the exact same story coming out? This is so weird.

For real, man. I think that somehow King Arthur has jumpstarted this trend of ultragritty "realistic" medieval drama. They're doing "Tristan and Isolde" with James Franco and what's-her-face from Underworld, too--Sophia Myles, that's the one.

My friend will be severely disappointed. she's an aspiring film maker and one of her big ideas was to make Beowulf into an epic production a la LOTR. She knew about the first movie, but apparantly it's just part of Beowulf. Sadly, unless she waits a good 30 eyars, it looks like she won't get the chance to play Peter Jackson.

(And continuing the Gaiman-y geek note: Mirrormask is premiering at Sundance! I'm not going to be there! But it's still gonna be COOL! *smily fuzzy face* Yaaaay.

(And now to bed.))

Every week, my horoscope says the same thing, something along the lines of "you've been postponing decisions until now, but this week everything should become clear, enabling you to take decisive action by Friday." Every week, in every magazine. And y'know, I never do take decisive action.

Totally and utterly OT: but I know you're from B-ham so I thought I'd let you know that there will be FT-ers meeting for dinner/drinks at Surin West tomorrow night at 7:00.

We'll be holding a table for the "FT Group" so as not to sound too internet-dorky to the hostess staff. As far as I know right now it's me and donna wk...but britcom freak and Craftdiva had expressed interest, so hopefully fun and chile sauce will be had by all.

Sadly enough, we cannot rival the population of the New York meet-ups. But, dammit, we can at least drink as much to make up for it.

Aww, dammit! That sounds like so much fun (and I've been craving Surin West chicken-fried rice lately, too!). Let me know the next time y'all want to do something, okay? I may be able to do it another time.

I knew of the Gerard Butler version of Beowulf, but not the other! This should be interesting. I wonder why they do this?? It reminds me of the two Alexander movies that were being made at one stage, except the Baz Luhrmann version never got off the ground.

Have you seen this little snippet being bandied about in a German publication?

Munic (ddp). Director Volker Schlöndorf is planning, according to «Focus» a new Film-Version of «The Phantom of the Opera». The Movie shall start at the beginning of April in Paris, so the Newspaper. His Version, in opposite to the shortly released Movie by Webber, shall be without big musical Underlining. Die Main-Actors of this french Movie, which will be released at Cinemas before, will be Klaus-Maria Brandauer and Jeremy Irons.

Another Phantom!
