Jan. 17th, 2005 10:33 pmToday's horoscope: Contrary to some people's opinion, you're an extremely hard worker, especially if you feel personally involved in the outcome, or personally attached to the project. Looks like that's what's going on right now, so if you're AWOL from your friends for a few days, they're just going to have to understand. Bet they will, too, as long as you return to them with a huge grin tomorrow morning. Refuse to answer any questions. Just smile. A nice, big one.
Behind on work. As usual. Sigh. I'm stuck, is what it is. Again. And the POTO soundtrack has earwormed its way into my heart, as someone on Fametracker put it, so between this and my attempts to solitaire my writer's block away on breaks, I'm starting to form some disturbing associations ("The Freeeeeeeeee Cell of the Opera is theeeeeeere...").
It's weird to get a day off class, though--I'm used to having Tuesday-Thursday classes, which means that Mondays and Fridays off are generally wasted on me. And then I remembered that we have a huge chunk of The Wide, Wide World due Wednesday, so I curled up and powered through that. (Dr. Frost, by the way, calls it Prayin' and Cryin', which should give you an idea of what we're talking about here. It's like Louisa May Alcott on a Jesus freak, basically. Pretty good for the genre, although it makes me feel like a complete heathen. Also, this Aunt Fortune bitch needs to get slapped pronto. Every time Ellen gets "wicked" and "sinful" and makes a peep towards telling her off, I'm all like, "YOU TELL THAT BITCH, GIRL!" Oh, how our values have changed.)
I'm still tickled to death over this--an icon community actually dedicated a whole challenge to "Phantom of the Opera in Fifteen Minutes."
(Am still not tired of this icon.)
Oscar Watch newsletter: Kate Winslet is nominated against herself at the BAFTAs. Damn.
LJ blackout news: if you're a paid user, collect two weeks of free paid time here. I think that's a bit much, but hey, I'm not complaining.
P.S. Hee!

Date: 2005-01-18 04:43 am (UTC)ANYWAY, I have to add in a little quirk that cracked me up.
Right before Christine goes to the cemetary, it flash..forwards back to Raoul in a carriage. Then, BAM.
HARRY'S PATRONUS: *prances stagfully alongside*
Why was there a stag? I liked the first time the Phantom twirled his cape. xD

Date: 2005-01-18 04:58 am (UTC)(When I saw POTO on B'way for the first time, I kept singing the songs in the oddest places: delis, ballet class, the A train...Those songs just get stuck in your head. Very annoying...)
