Minnie Driver presents the Phantom clip. I giggle through the whole clip. Notably, they don't let you hear any of the speaking or singing--just the overture over a badly-edited montage. WHEE. I THINK IT WILL WIN, DON'T YOU?

Screenplay. I LOVE YOU CHARLIE KAUFMAN! Also? Presenter Matthew McConaughey is way mellow. But then, it'd be more interesting if he weren't. Alexander Payne wins for Sideways. YOU WERE ROBBED, CHARLIE!

Actress TV comedy something. Three Desperate Housewives are nominated. That's just ridiculous, y'all. Also Debra Messing and Sarah Jessica Parker, but who cares? They're not HOUSEWIVES! And--WHAT? TERI HATCHER WINS? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? MARCIA CROSS IS GOING TO POISON HER AND BLOW HER UP AND DROP HER OFF A CLIFF. Oh, KimberBree. Woe.

Teri Hatcher is crying and giggling and says she couldn't have been a bigger has-been, and--y'all, that is so honest and perceptive, I hate to say it. But... yeah. Radio Shack commercials. Back from the brink of career oblivion, is Teri Hatcher. Also, she calls Eva Longoria "the young one who eats everything." What?

And Robin Williams is about to get a lifetime achievement award. He deserves it, but... I fear the mugging to ensue. Forecast? One hundred percent chance of ham.

Mom is way too excited about The Wedding Date. She's really, really excited about the guy Debra Messing hires--who is that, Dermot Mulroney? I mean, I know he's in it; I just wasn't paying attention to see if he's the date for hire.

Heeeee, the "I Would Do Anything For Love" commercial. If someone has that on MP3, could you yousendit.com to me?

I'm so glad Teri Hatcher won. I love her in Desperate Housewives. Almost as much as I loved her in Lois & Clark.

Teri Hatcher won? Are you serious? I've only seen a couple episode... and DAMN. Maybe the people who voted only watched the first couple of episodes and didn't get a chance to see Marcia Cross really excel. Oh well.

You know, it's funny, out here on the west coast the GG haven't even started yet. There's no point me even watching them since I hear about it all from my flist.

Grazi. I can't look at it though LOL. I can't spoil the movie (though I'm afraid of what it's going to be like) for myself.

Is Phantom any good?

Yeah. I know.

Anyway, I think The Golden Globes is Rigged. If Johnny Depp doesn't win, I am so totally going to lay a smack-down on my t.v.

His biggest competition is Leonardo DiCaprio, so he's got a good chance, but then again, his biggest competition played a nutball. Here's hoping. *crosses fingers*

I hate Leo.

Yeah. I know. I'm a horrible person, blah, blah, blah.

But Johnny Depp is so much better.

And I love your icon!

Phantom is one of the most awesome movies that ever awesomed. It has hot men, great costumes, general hilarity, and all the cheese you will ever need. If you love Michael Crawford and/or Sarah Brightman, however, you may hate it.

Gah, this is what I'm afraid of. I adore Michael Crawford and I saw a preview for Phantom when I saw Finding Neverland and the guy's voice just can't live up to Michael's. I don't know if I'm going to go and see it or not anymore. Although I said that about Chicago which I LOVE on stage and was so afraid Catherine ZJ and Renee Zellweger were going to mess it up but it totally rocked, so I'm hoping the same will happen here.

Well, I've discussed it with several people who like the movie, and it's like--it's this wonderful, awesome, addictive thing. You get *cravings* to see it again. It's like caramel corn. And while yeah, Gerry Butler's voice just isn't as good--he's an actor who can (sort of) sing, not a singer who can act--he sells the character in a totally different way. (Emmy Rossum? Is a singer who can act. She's no Brightman, but she's the strongest element of the music.)

One of my all time favourite songs is The Music Of The Night, so I'm a little disappointed that they didn't cast someone with a stronger voice, but I think I might see it, with the knowledge that it isn't going to be the same because I would like to see it on the big screen.

I'm going to see Phantom again tomorrow. I can't stay away.

I made my fiance watch the clip just now and made him admit that it looks exciting. He's going with me, because he loves me THAT MUCH. :-P

All the housewives except the young one look... brittle.

Dermot Mulroney is my husband. But shhh. Don't tell the fiance.

Oh, and when I saw Matthew McConaughey I thought it was Sawyer. And then was disappointed. *sigh* There better be some more Sawyer this week.

Non-GG related, but this-comment-related, can you point me to Lost icons? I feel like I need one.

It's actually very short--it's mostly the timing that's so awesome. It's this guy and his girlfriend, and while Meatloaf is wailing about doing anything for love, he's like, helping her with laundry and scary unmentionables and things. I forget what happens next, but then they flop down into an armchair and she reaches for his Dr. Pepper. And then, exactly as the song goes into high gear, the guy jumps up and storms out of the house, because he will clearly do anything for love, but he won't give up his soda. Again: totally the song and the timing.
