I ought to mention that I've posted about the 4christina.org fundraiser on [livejournal.com profile] m15m, where you can put in a vote for Lemony Snicket or Phantom as the next "Fifteen Minutes." Snicket pulled out with an early lead, but it's currently getting whomped by Phantom. Also? We've cleared $3000 on the fundraising. Yay!

Hmm. Looks like Dan Kwa won't be recapping Lost anymore. I have no idea who'll replace him, but they've got a few weeks to pick someone. I have a few favorites I'm hoping for. (Don't even ask--I'm pretty sure they're not hiring new people, and my recaps have a looser, less accurate quality than I think TWOP is looking for. Not that I couldn't change that, but... anyway.)

Oh, and an extra hug for [livejournal.com profile] restriction, because she needs it today.

That's cool the fund-raiser's gotten so far, I'm usually hesistant to lay any money out for people asking online because I'm so paranoid of being cheated out of money by someone playing the sympathy card from their disease-free condo funded with the "hospital money"

But! I trust your judgement in this and hope we hit the $5k mark ;)

I know! I've never donated to anything online before for that reason. But Jillian's updated the "Verification" section on the website, and in addition to some sad pictures on the front page, there seem to be plenty of documents to confirm their debt. (And thanks. : )

Dan Kwa's heart didn't seem into it anymore.

Yeah... I almost kind of think that you really have to love a show to be able to recap it like that, or at least have loved it once if it then goes south.

That's awesome news about the fundraising. I wish I could help, but we're so poor right now it's just not possible for me. I wrote emails to Oprah though. ^^;

*reads the TWOP link* An offshore oil rig, huh? lol

O_O I don't know how sharing files works, but I have never seen Lost. I know it's something I would love, but I want to start from the beginning. Is it possible for you to easily transfer the files to me through e-mail? My address is mamoyer@gmail.com

If it's at all a trouble, don't worry about it. ^^;; again, I'm not sure how it works.

Not directly through email (because the files are enormous and hotmail can't handle it) but I might be able to do it using yousendit.com (thanks for that link, Cleo. ^^), and you'll just wind up with a dozen or so seperate emails.

I'll try sending you part 1 of the Pilot, and if that works I should be able to send the rest. Do you want all the episodes I have, or just up to 6?

Cleo,
You quitting all this to go write for TWoP (and moderate the ever-crashing boards), would be like quitting as the CEO of a Fortune 500 corporation and going to be a cashier at Circle K. I think you could get paid to write, and not have to degrade yourself that way. Do you really want to spend all your time trying to quell flamewars, and people doing the endless slash thing to the point of, well, sickeningly overdoing it? **ck that.

Heh. Well, they're not hiring me, so it's a moot point. But thanks. : )

stupid question? i was checking out 4christina.org, and i know you're pushing it more right now because it is december, but because of my aforementioned jobless state, i can't donate right now. though i would like to in the future. on to the stupid quetion...is there a deadline? i'm pretty sure i won't be able to put one in before xmas, as much as i'd like to, and i'm sure they're going to be doing this for awhile, but i just wanted to make sure.

No, no, there's hardly a deadline. I would be keeping our count open until New Year's at least, and I'm sure they'll still need it a month or six months from now.

In that it doesn't really exist yet? No, I'm afraid you'll have to wait a few more months. : )

I also am too poor to donate, although I would if I could, and wouldn't mind a few generous donations myself. However, my perilous financial situation is entirely due to my own stupidity and thus undeserving of sympathy. Sorry, this sounds like a roundabout way of asking for sympathy and/or money, but it's not.
