OMG LOST. I watched it downstairs with my parents over dinner, and I freaked THE HELL out when they found Charlie, just because the whole blindfolded hanging thing was so gruesome. And as the efforts to resuscitate Charlie dragged on and on, my dog looked up at me and said, "Do you hear that?" And I said, "Uh... no?" And he said, "I felt a great disturbance on the internets, as if millions of fangirls suddenly cried out in extremely high-pitched terror and were suddenly silenced, because they had all fainted dead away."

(I did hear several thousand LOTR fans, however, yell out in unison near the beginning of the show, "NOT IDLY DO THE LEAVES OF DRIVESHAFT FALL!")

I'll make one tomorrow once I'm out of class. I think someone said it last week (because really, what else can you say?), and I'm sure we're not the only ones.

I hate Jack less now, though.

See, I had read where JJ Abrams said, "Dom is so unexpectedly popular that we won't kill Charlie off." I SAW publicity stills from the scene of him with the marks on his neck sitting by the campfire. I KNEW that he was supposed to live. But when he kept lying there, and kept lying there, and kept lying there, I started going, Oh my God, all of that was misdirection, wasn't it? OH MY GOD!

*etc*

Seriously? I will never get the picture of Charlie hanging there out of my head. It will be burned in my memory forever.

And so glad to see everyone else picked up on the Lost/LoTR connections. XD It's so silly, because like... in the beginning, Locke was like "Footprints.. there was a struggle" and I was like "Haha, he's so Aragorn from The Two Towers."

Date: 2004-12-08 06:38 pm (UTC)

Heh, yeah.

The hanging bit was SO INCREDIBLY DISTURBING that it just made him possibly dying that much more upsetting. Like... you don't want to see someone die that way. That's just horrible.

Gah! I haven't seen the episode yet, but I clicked the link going "Eh, it's probably nothing huge." "Probably nothing huge" turned into a frantic 30-second scramble through the comments to make sure Charlie hadn't bit the big one. >.<

Well, at least I can do the thing to my mom that I tried to do with The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: when Alan was shot/stabbed/whatever, my mom was all "Oh my God! Is he dead?!" and I was all "Yeah. He died. You didn't know that's how it ends?" TOTALLY MESSING AROUND. I had no idea how the movie ended. I -fully- expected him to like, wave a magic wand (rifle?) and sign a deal for a sequel. But no. >.< She still won't let it go, either.
