Nov. 24th, 2004 03:27 pmPottergate update: I came downstairs and found Mom and Sister Girl bickering "pleasantly" over the best way to mix the cornbread dressing, so apparently all rifts have been healed. And then we watched the first half of Sorcerer's Stone (through the Quidditch match, however far that is), because Sister Girl won't let Mom watch the end of POA until she's seen all of the first two. As long as they're not arguing, I don't care.
Also: I "let slip" that I've ordered Sister Girl the willow wand she wanted for Christmas, and will not hesitate to send it back if she doesn't behave herself. Santa Cleo sees all, yo.

Date: 2004-11-24 03:57 pm (UTC)Speaking of Santa Cleo, I wish I had the money to send all my LJ friends Christmas cards--a lot of people are doing it and it looks like so much fun, but... I'm doing well just to be able to buy decent Christmas presents this year.

Date: 2004-11-25 07:43 am (UTC)Also, on a completely unrelated note, I was talking to my Greek professor in office hours yesterday and we were bitching yet again about how much we hated Troy...and he asked me if I'd read Troy in Fifteen Minutes. And then we spent about ten more minutes quoting lines from that and cracking up.
So apparently your reading audience includes the chair of graduate admissions (http://www.unc.edu/~whrace/) for UNC's classics department. Feel special!
