Today's horoscope: Did you expect that report to write itself? Time to stop putting it off. Shut up, horoscope.

(Seriously, shut up. The annot. bibliog. isn't even due until Tuesday! I quease! Shut up!)

(Oh, fine... you're right.)

Doing a little better today; still queasy, still having a hard time eating. I'm still kinda sick, even after 24 hours, which surprises me. (I would tell you more, but... let's just say I have TMItis.) Mom came in sometime around twelve and was all like, "You must write that paper! You have to get up! You have to fight!" Whatever, Atreyu--I've got your number. You just want me to finish it tonight so that you can drag me off to National Treasure tomorrow, and I really don't want to see a silly action-adventure movie where the handsome leading man is tragically outmaneuvered by Nicolas Cage. ("That isn't really..." "IT IS IN MY WORLD.")

(Damn, is Diane Kruger in this movie, too? She's just determined to glom onto Troy survivors, isn't she?)

(PS. While I was poking around looking for that link in the previous parenthetical comment, I found Phantom of the Opera pictures. A lot of them, including behind the scenes and costume stuff. You may have seen them already--I've been out of it since my quasi-abandonment of the Digest. Since the second Black Ribbon series is set in Paris at what looks to be roughly the same period, I am intrigued. Also, I just like Emmy Rossum. Shockingly, I have never read or seen any version of Phantom, except for the first half of a TV miniseries I secretly stayed up to see when I was eleven or so. Good times.)

(Unable to put nipples on any of the costumes, Joel "I Killed the Batman Franchise" Schumacher would not rest until his fetish had been satisfied.)

(Speaking of Black Ribbon 2--Minnie Driver, why are you dressed up as my character Bijou? Which is to say, in a less Cleocentric way, tone down the bitchface and you totally have one of my new characters. Weeeeeeeird.)

(Man, Minnie Driver, don't get angry.)

(Well, crap. I hit the wrong button and accidentally posted the entry before it was done. So if you saw it and then it disappeared, that's what happened.)

(Whee! Also tons of Lemony Snicket pictures!)

I'm going to go try another bowl of soup (oatmeal this morning did not so much work). But first, I leave you with another meme I've seen floating around: What should my T-shirt slogan be?

I always imagined the Red Death costume would be much more awesome and frightening than that - possibly involving a huge head thing. I'm disappointed.

Of course, from the trailers and musical snippets on the site, I fear I'm going to be disappointed with most aspects of the Phantom character.

Minnie Driver. Hah!

I'm not even a fan (phan?), but I severely question their choice of director and leading man, myself. So... yeah, I'm not expecting too much.

Okay, so I'm a hardcore phan (read: I play in a Phantom RPG and dig my background). And I am freaking out about the movie (as in, driving long distances to see the early release of it). I am rather disappointed in what I have already seen and heard though. *sigh*

From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
Awwww.

(Yeah... I want to watch the trailer, but this computer doesn't have the speakers hooked up anymore, and what I really want to "see" is the singing. I know Emmy Rossum can actually sing--it's the Phantom guy I'm worried about. I'm not hearing good things about him. And I *know* how much people love POTO. If this movie doesn't deliver, things are going to get so ugly.)

Nothing even remotely amusing to add. Sorry.

Fortunately for him, that fetish isn't exactly incompatible this time. The angel sculpture in the stage version has always featured a pair of angels/nymphs getting groped by satyrs. This is only marginally more disturbing...

Squee the Lemony Snicket pics! The synopsis indicates the plot is kinda skewed though, Olaf has them RUN OVER by a TRAIN. Then they go to live with Monty and Josephene, and they go BACK to Olaf because Mr Poe has the mental capacity of a breath mint *cheer m15m* and THEN they do the Marvellous Marriage and KLAUS invents the grappling hook and saves Sunny WHILE the play is going on. And finds a giant eye-shaped magnifying glass "Just perfect for setting fires!" in the tower, and then defeats Olaf AFTER Violet ACTUALLY signs over the fortune. Or something.

Regarding Minnie Driver's bitchface, it looks like she might be playing La Carlotta, the super-bitchy prima donna opera singer. If so, she looks awesome. I love the villainous eyebrows especially.

From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
She is Carlotta--I think she may be one of the few awesome things in the movie, actually. I just meant that in order for her to have a perfect/weird resemblance to a character who exists only in my head, the bitchface would have to be dialed down a notch. But other than that, it's spot-on. ; )

Aw, hell! I can't say no! The first time was for free, I swear and the second time it was only five fifty! It's Bean, I can't help it. *points to icon* how can you say 'no' to that sexy fine handsome face? It's a weakness, I tell you.

I saw National Treasure and I loved the Sean Bean-ness, I *squealed* when I saw him and went "Hi! Boromir" much to the amusement of my friends. The one bad thing was that Nicholas Cage drove me insane. If there was such a thing as a moviesues/stus Live Journal I would post his character of Benjamin Franklin Gates there. My friends and I just accepted the fact that the character can do all this stuff because "He's Nicholas Cage." The romantic subtleties between Benjamin and Diane Kruger's character (Abagail) made me cringe. Example: "I think it needs more heat." *groans of agony from me*

Emmy Rossum was the cutest person EVER in the WORLD in Songcatcher. Have you seen that? That was my movie* years ago, back when Emmy hadn't done anything besides that and some "Guiding Light" episodes. I have an almost maternal pride in her now that she is going to be very famous very soon.

(God, I hope Phantom is good. It's easy bait for critics because, well, Andrew Lloyd Webber sucks - but it could still be a pretty spectacular flick...)

*I can lay claim to it with a clear conscience, since there are probably approximately twelve people in the US who have seen that movie.

For the meme: I agree with a previous post of "Hey baby! Hey baby, you so fine, baby!" lol But I suppose "Bitches come when I call" is good too.
