Mathmatics is a formal system, meaning whoever makes it up/uses it applies value to the symbols within the system (1 means one, not five).

This formal type of system is the only thing in the world that can be completely proven or disproven. But that is only because one has made up the system in the first place. There is no other thing of which you can say, "Sure, I can prove that with one hundred percent accuracy!" not even "scientific" things.

Oddly enough, I learned this in my Christian Apologetics class. Our professor was talking about how dumb it is to ask/promise one hundred percent accuracy of anything before you believe it. For instance: there is never a one hundred percent guarantee that you won't be run over when crossing the street. Do you then never cross the street? Or do you leave, say, thirty percent of yourself behind when you do?

How To Procrastinate, If You're Not Squeamish:

1.) Dress the dogs up in togas.

2.) Get a kiddie wading pool.

3.) Get/trap several mice. Dress in painstakingly accurate late era Roman-captive outfits.

4.) Put mice in kiddie pool. (No water.)

5.) Borrow neighbors' cat.

6.) Dress cat in painstakingly accurate Russell-Crowe-style Gladiator outfit (complete with little leather skirt-thingy).

7.) Arrange dogs around pool.

8.) Throw cat in pool with mice.

I actually thought that up one day. Not like I'd do it in a million years, but...
