Know what's worse? I've seen smaller text than that on an icon, and then the makers bitch at you when you complain that you can't understand what it says. "The words are just there for effect," they say. "But I want to be able to READ them!!" you reply. No difference.

Damn straight. If it's just for effect, they might as well just write "asdfgkajhpot" rather than bother actually copying significant or appropriate (in their opinion) lines - in which case, doesn't that make it worth reading? Duh.

Cleo, d00d ... did you realise the text at that size looks like it says "save me from the dark WWW", because the second "save me" blurred and looked like WWW, lol!

Yay! Ugly was the point, of course--to make the most terrible icon possible, which is why illegible text, weird color effects, and Evanescence lyrics were involved. :)

Oh god. That's hilarious and true and a pretty icon no less. The totally unreadable icons are the worst. Isn't text for... reading? But you can't say that because then people get very uppity about you questioning their tiny writing. The way the text is shrinking we're going to need magnifying glasses to read what icons say.

Cleo, I recommend a program called Nova Photo Explosion Deluxe for making icons, what I do is assemble about eight percent of what I want a icon to look like, and then I use Photoshop filters on the almost-finished product. I'm sure one of your fans will gladly provide you with a (legal) copy. Photoshop is terribly hard to learn, that program I mentioned makes adding text as simple as using turning on the T.V.
I made all my still-images with that program. They look good.
