There's a lovely code that if you put it in, you get like, 10,000 meat or something. And loads of stats.

i too have been sucked into the kol abyss. did you know that if you ask questions in the chat, people will, like, give you stuff? for no apparent reason? some person gave me like 1.3 million meat. anyway, just fyi. i feel a little less dirty for sharing the love, so to speak.

Apparently about a week ago someone found and exploited a MASSIVE bug that gave out billions, yes billions, in meat, which is why the sudden weird stuff with the cannon and all... (Jick's trying to get the inflationary quantities of meat out of the system without having to just zero everybody.) It's been a fascinating example of a hyperinflationary economy in action, but it's been trying for the people who were there from the beginning and worked for al their stuff. (Me, I'm not exactly complaining, because at one point the oldtimers were selling hell ramen and booze for 10 meat just to try to get things back on an even keel again, so I've got enough high-quality food/booze stockpiled now to give me turnage for months... ;) )

The meat code in the strange leaflet was taken out. But there is another nice feature with that code. And you want to do it after the chest is opened.

Nah, I was talking about the meat/stats code you mentioned earlier. I haven't received the pamphlet yet so I was confused. Anyway, I'm a complete newbie at KoL and I haven't been able to figure out a way to get food and drink cheap so that I can get more adventures. Any tips?

The people in the chat are pretty nice. If you have some firecrackers or lids, they'll buy them for thousands of meat. Stock up on those things in Cobb's knob and the Haunted Pantry so you can sell a bunch and keep a bunch (you'll need them for the rat quest).
