Huh. Unlike that previous crush meme, this at least tells me that... well, someone has a crush (or "crush") on me. I just don't know who.

ETA: I've put my crushes in now, if by "crush" you mean "Wow, I think you/your writing/your journal is spiffy keen!" So, you know, LJ users of both sexes, people I know personally and people I don't, etc. Just wanted to set that out there, because from the comments I'm reading in other people's journals, a lot of people are defining "crush" that way, but a lot of people aren't.

It only tells you if it's mutual. :P There's a whole bunch on mine that I don't know who they are yet.

*waves* I friended you but you don't have to friend me back. :D

Hi!

(See, the thing is, I haven't named *anyone* as a crush, which is why I assumed it'd give you a number regardless.)

There's a big chunk of my friends that crush doesn't necessarily mean "crush"... so we add each other because we really care about each other and whatnot. But I know what you're saying. Obviously there's people out there who have listed me but I haven't listed them... It's kinda annoying not knowing who they are. hehe :P

Eh? I thought they took this tool-thingie down? Back up again.

Dunno about crush, but your movies in 15 minutes earned you a vast estate in the savage jungle of my heart.

Or something like that.

Awww! I saw that myself earlier, actually. Of course, I've been reading Louisa May Alcott stories all weekend, so I have this urge to, like, give you a glove as a token of my esteem, or some shit like that. ;)

Alas, the glove signals your genteel background, while I'm the roughneck Northerner, my face blackened from long nights in the Pennsylvania coal mines. I will stare dutifully at the white glove, longing for a love that can never be, and then - according to best tradition - I will promptly be accused of defiling your purest being and be unfairly hung by a mob of the upper-crust men who stack the jury.

Damn, I hate these LJ crushes. They always end in hangings.

Eeeh - does that thing ask you to put in other ppl's user names or email addresses?

*fears email collecting spam fucker like crushlink*

Yah, I thought of that, too. Unfortunately, 'twas after I registered, which proves, once again, that experience allows you to recognize a mistake after you make it the second time. :p

Luckily, 'twas only the mailcity addy I use for LJ crapola.

Yeah, but if you put in your own email addy - that's your own fault.
Do you add crushes of your own? If so - does it ask for user names or email addresses? I fear other people making mistakes on my behalf, as it were.

From: [identity profile] yarha.livejournal.com
I don't know if it asks for other's info, as it's supposed to send a verification email to the addy I provided and none have come, which raises the ol' red flag right there.

I couldn't give other's email address, since I've that much security sense at least. :p Actually, I can't imagine anybody putting in somebody else's email addy. That would be tres goofy.

I checked it myself now and it doesn't ask you to input other users' email adresses, as it collects the users on your friends list from your user info. They won't get any emails or anything.

So all is good!

It *might* be someone's idea of an educational experience: collect the data, make everybody's crushes public knowledge, and tell them "See what happens when you don't read the fine print?"

A while back, somebody ran one of these crush memes... then, a few months later, mailed all participants to let them know he'd *sell* them the details of who had a crush on them.

From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
Heh. That would be a great object lesson, except for the fact that 1) my definition of "crush" here is, "Gee, I really like your journal!" and 2) I'd laugh in the guy's face and not give him a penny. So, you know, nice try. :)

And all of my crushes are nonsecret and pretty much mutual, which also makes things easier :-)
