Whoa. I basically spent the whole afternoon sleeping off that summer cold I was worrying about--crap in my throat, all-over aching, traveling on Friday! AHHH!--and I had some freaky tweaked-out dreams, lemme tell you what. Like, dreams with characters and plots and fantasy settings and shit. Some kind of weird Pompeii-type setting with multiple generations and battles and islands on fire and characters dying and being reincarnated and marrying and having heirs and dying again and all kinds of weird-ass shit. Like, type-this-up-and-sell-it-to-a-publisher weird-ass shit. Damn.

Urg. I hurt.

I just now finally wrote the email to my publisher about which ten movies we want to do. I'm still stuck on number 10--we have way too many options--but I'll let y'all know when we have it finalized. On the understanding, of course, that 1) I can't look at anyone else's parodies of those movies, to protect both me (from accusations of playgerizm OMG) and other writers (from having their work actually, accidentally seep into my subconscious) and 2) once the book manuscript is on for real, I have about two months to write it. And at least one of those months I will be back in class. And it looks like that class will be on Milton. If nothing new gets posted in [livejournal.com profile] m15m for a while, you're just going to have to understand and be patient.

(Yes, Lord of the Rings. Yes, a Harry Potter of some kind. Yes, Titanic. You do realize that if these go in the book, I can't post them online, right? Yeah. You're starting to reconsider which movies you want in the book, aren't you?)

Trying to think of snacks to take on train, as will be on train for about eight hours, and train food itself will probably be overpriced, as it will be the only game in town at that point.

It is totally cool and worth the wait to me if you do those movies for the book.

you want the best success for yourself and the book right?

so do it on the best movies!

As long as you update on the status of the book every once in awhile I will be completely content and ready to order your book when it is published!

I also believe you have been watching waaaaayyy too much I love the 90's

for your health it may be best to stay away from VH1 for a little while

(I know OMGWTFBBQ to that statement)

I have been having very long, epic, strange and frightening dreams lately as well; you should enjoy them, they are better than no dreams right?

btw, I know you like internet games

I stumbled across this today, and it is a lot of fun

http://www.theblackforge.net/#

you get to live a whole different live by making choices, and you learn a lot about yourself sometimes (well I did >.>)

extremely addictive

it does this weird server thing, a right click and refresh fixes that up quick

oh and how addictive it was. At the very least, I managed to put my insomnia to good use.
I found out that if I follow my life as it runs right now, I will die as a pitcher in a senior citizens softball team, after getting the batter out. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not..?

OMG! I'm sick too ... some kind of flu, which I know has to be from interstate, because I've spent so much time around my friend who was interstate recently (and who came back, with a flu!). I'm having freaky dreams too! I had one about people popping ballons behind my head and thirty centimetre termites that were actually wasp larvae that climbe dout of their termite-ish bodies to turn into giant, 15 centimetre, waspies!

Anyway, hope you feel better soon. These dreams are pretty ... whacked ... and the others, not just the balloon and wasp one, are starting to creep me out.

If you need some help on Milton to speed you on your book-contract-writing way, you know the girl to call. Dammit, why am I offering help to the competition? I'm supposed to be Birmingham's Great White Hope!

Anyway, me = Milton. Hey, I gotta do something with this English degree.

Hee. Hey, we can use all the great hopes we can get, white or otherwise. It's either gonna be Milton or rhetoric (blargh), depending on what works best timewise, so if I end up in Milton, you will definitely be seeing more of me. I loathed Milton in high school, but... dude, high school. Freshman, in fact. One would think that ten years would improve my reading comprehension a good bit. :)

My boss puts up out horoscopes on our team webpage every day. Today's was so accurate it was eerie. Part of me laughs, and part of me thinks, "OK, that's a litte freaky."

I get mine off my.yahoo.com. The weird thing is, yeah, it'll say something really freakin' specific. Like, the new one for Thursday: "Frustration doesn't have to reach the boiling point. Let off a little of that steam." Which sounds really generic until you think about what I've been like the last few weeks. And then it's kinda freaky.

(Or like the day it talked about phone calls. The day Vladimir ended up calling me. AHHHH.)

So maybe I'm reconsidering what I want for the book, but if you're putting in Titanic, I simply MUST purchase it.

Back in the day, I was all about Titanic. Hence why I snerked at the comment made about PoA.

And EVERYTIME you mention Luis Guzmán, I just lose it. I mean, seriously. As in, my next door neighbor just banged on the wall because I woke her up with my laughter.

Ha ha, the joke's on you because there's no way I'd reconsider which movies I voted for. The fun of buying a book by someone I sort of know is more than adequate compensation for not getting it for free on the net.

So ner.

In other news, it's fascinating the way dreams sometimes have plots. I only rarely have dreams like that, but I always write them down. I have at least two that might form themselves into a story one day, if only because I doubt I could come up with anything so wonderfully complex and bizarre while I'm awake...

Heh. Well, you *will* have to wait more than a year to read book movies, whereas you'll get, say, Bram Stoker's Dracula before 2004's over. ;)

Must be in the air - I have a sinus/ear infection. In the middle of July. May be 'cause both my parents smoked.

Amoxicillin rox.

Mind if I go to amazon.com to purchase your book, when? There's only one big bookstore in town, and they're real smug about it. And I don't wanna pay extra fees to get it special-ordered at the smaller store...

Date: 2004-07-22 09:14 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
It's going to be more than a year--October 2005--before the book hits stores, in part because I haven't even started writing it yet. And God bless brick and mortar bookstores, but I do have an Amazon affiliate account for the Digest, and I will certainly be selling the book through that.

Maybe this is just a sign of VH1 overdose. I swear, you're going to start hallucinating him everywhere you look. Maybe TiVo the '90s and limit yourself to one-a-day from now on, assuming they get the same commentators back for "I Love the '50s." Moderation is the key....

From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
Part of the problem is that I don't watch much TV at all to start with. Like, "The Amazing Race." That's pretty much it, unless I hear about something special. So watching ILT90s all last weekend probably didn't help...

Dude, Luis Guzman in his full force The Bone Collector mode was in my dream last night!!! I wonder what he was doing there??!! ^^

And my work colleague just got back from Italy where she spent some time in Pompeii and Herculeneum, and we spent a LOT of time yesterday talking about her trip!!!

Creeeeepy.

I've been having weird dreams too. I had an Alan Rickman dream a week ago, which wasn't so much weird as very, very nice. I had a dream on Monday that two of my friends (one of whom lives in London and the other in Vancouver) and I were in a stairwell and Conan O'Brien wanted us to take the elevator, but I didn't want to. He did and we went outside, and the elevator went psycho and started going up and down really fast and we could see it on the outside. I had one last night that I was cleaning my bathroom, and that I was having an affair with a teacher from my high school. Also, I needed to carry some kind of device around or else I would die/my head would explode (I think that part came form an X-files episode), and he got one of the devices for me. So yeah. Luis Guzman, not too bad. Even though Luis is my favorite movie (Magnolia) I always picture him as the little side kick from Count of Monte Cristo.

Meh, I never have interesting dreams. In my dreams, I'll start to die, but right beore I do, I think, "Oh...I'm dreaming. I'm ok. I'll just keep screaming anyway though." And then I wake up. It's very weird.

Or we could just, y'know, buy the book. Then we wouldn't have to freak out when our flippin' internet stopped working again...*kicks modem* We could just go find your book! *squee* Congrats again, that's the coolest thing EVER. I hope it works out for you!
