Aw, don't look at it that way. She's really done a lot to promote YA, particularly against that really awful WSJ article, and to get people to talk about how YA books about tough topics (including what it's like to be a gay teen) helped them get through their teenage years. I've talked to her about this, and she is just really genuinely appalled that it's happening, and confused because she doesn't know anyone who would do this (and would kick their ass if she did). My point was more that it's the very hope and optimism in the YA community that may be keeping people from seeing that there's still some work to be done.
