The business about Jennifer's baby book

Hi -- I've never watched this show before, but had been reading your recaps (need I say they rock? They do!) and when I found myself at home on Monday due to the holiday, I thought I'd see for myself just how wacky it was. And was amply rewarded.

But anyway, the business with Jack and the baby book: on Monday, Patrick and Jennifer were on a couch at her place, she was patching up various abrasions (no idea how he got them, sorry)on the shirtless Patrick. Who remains shirtless throughout. Then they start talking about the baby, he offers advice, she gets angry because it's her baby and not his and who is he to be telling her how to take care of herself. Then she apologizes and starts being sad about the baby book given to her by either her Mom or Jack's (don't remember which), because it has parts for her to write in and parts for the Daddy to write in, but the Daddy isn't here to write it, and the baby will never know all the things Jack might have wanted to say. She leaves the room for something and Patrick sits down with the book and pulls out this weird-looking talisman or coin -- it's an irregular metal disc with a death's head on it. He holds it to the light so light bounces off it, almost like he's hypnotizing himself with it or something, and begins writing in the book, on the page Jennifer had pointed out as Jack's. When she returns, she looks at the book again and sees it's been written in, apparenly in Jack's handwriting, and is stunned. Patrick affects to know nothing about this, and apparently she's more prepared to believe that Jack can write from beyond the grave than to think that the man she just left alone with the book might have something to do with it.

Meanwhile, a present Abe arranged before his "death" to have sent to his son on his birthday arrives, and with it a letter telling his wife that if he's dead when she gets it, she should feel free to move on and find a new man to love her and help her raise their son. Abe, in Bizarro Salem, has remembered arranging this, and is now freaked that his wife will remarry before he can get back to her. Celeste is concerned because Tek is hanging around way too much and says so; upon touching the letter, though, she happily exclaims that Abe is alive.

That's all I can remember of the new developments, can't wait to see what happens next -- Vive le wacky!
