God, it sounds like your bloke and mine would have got on like a house on fire. ...Or maybe not, but very, very similar "if only you'd stop misunderstanding me we two superior people would get on SO WELL. NOW." mentality. Except he also thought I was in need of RESCUE. There was "Locked in a castle" imagery.
