More Harry Potter news, and it's big--Brendan Gleeson ("THAT'S MY WIFE, HOR!") will play Mad-Eye Moody. Frances de la Tour will play Madame Maxime.

I was so hoping that Sean Connery would be Mad-Eye Moody. Oh, well. ^_^

fabulous!!

and i dont know how many non-uk people will know francis de la tour, but trust me, its fantastic casting. i saw her last year in 'dance of death' with sir ian, and am due to see her again in the new alan bennett.

i dont know what they're paying the casting people for harry potter, but it isnt enough.

Ooo! If she's good enough for Sir Ian, she's good enough for me. Seriously, the casting folks have done an excellent job, and without pandering to the "We want hot guys!" contingent. (I admit, I cherished hopes of Ewan for Lupin, but once you've cast Alan Rickman for Snape, you've got to cast in that age group). I fully expect any British actor who's anyone to show up in the series before it's over with.

I first read this as Brendan Fraser, and I was like "Mad-Eye Moody is going to be a little... beefier."

also, had you heard that rose byrne ('thank you george lucas! *squeee!*') and diane kruger ('i'm starting to think this was a bad idea') are in the upcoming wicker park (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0324554/combined)?

I totally did not picture moody as anything like brendan gleeson.. not that I don't heart the guy. I enjoyed him in 28 days later. it'd be neat to see him in that film he was in with daniel radcliffe. I've never seen daniel in anything besides HP. I'm sure it will be quite good, though.

"I KEEL YOU HOR"
I've had that stuck in my head all week.. *snerk*

Oh. My. God.

He is PERFECT!!!!

I can't believe I never thought of him...When I think of a man screaming in a rage "BURRRN, TROY, BURRRRRRRN!!!!!!".

I think of Mad Eye Moody. :-)

*holds out hope for ewan & jude & colin & so many other purdy distinguished actors I can't remember right now*

On a related note, I heard a rumour a while back about Kate Winslet being approached for the part of, iirc, Fleur, but I haven't heard anything since on it.

B-but I signed the petition for Billy Connolly. *Sad*

Oh well, they've never listened in the past, have they? *Recalls the "Ewan McGregor for Lupin" phase*

I'm not going to be able to take Moody seriously.

Noo.
And here I've been secretly hoping/pining that Anthony Hopkins would play Mad Eye Moody.

Wah....oh well.
