I haven't even had breakfast yet

Okay, I am going to bring my squee over here and stop spamming the poor people on Twitter because OH MY GOD I AM GOING TO BE POOR! I AM GOING TO BE SO VERY, VERY POOR! They are making ANOTHER Tonner Edward!

WELL SCREW YOU TOO!

After a brief discussion on Twitter, what I think they're going to do here is possibly that first biology class scene--whichever shirt that was (amazingly, I do not have these things memorized), and black eyes. (This would be used as a double for Tonner Edward, not as a new and separate character.) (Taxidermy owl sold separately.)

Problem: It's a San Diego Comic Con exclusive. And there's only 200 of them.

ARGHHHH.

Well, that's a month from now. If anyone ends up going and thinks they can grab it, let me know--there might be a lottery? Ouch. I would pay you back for it, obviously. I just want to make sure I don't have five different people with dolls wanting to be paid back. Or, for that matter, an army of Hungry Edwards in my room.

OMG, Tonner is going to end up with how many versions of Edward? I'll bet anything though, Hungry Edward may be exclusive to Comic Con right now, but sooner or later he'll be available for mass sales with maybe a couple of minor changes. Good luck Cleo!! If I were going I'd be glad to get you one. Unfortunately, married with children & broke doesn't leave me with the budget. Or the time. :)

Well, if I do happen to win the contest for SDCC tickets I will let you know. Pretty unlikely, though.

On a Tonner related note, if anyone is curious about the Who/Torchwood dolls I emailed them to see if I could get an idea of when they might be released; the email I received said "this project has taken longer then we anticipated" so...it might be a while I guess?

[identity profile] ahirutwin.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh man. I hope you hire, like, a SWAT ninja or something because seriously, this is going to be on the level of the Tour of Terror. D: Maybe moreso because its combined with Comic Con hype and rabid collectors besides the normal gaggle of fangirls.

[identity profile] dramedy.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I have friends who are attending, I could point them this way if no one else is gonna go.

[identity profile] escap1974.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Like I said, I'll do it if you need me to. I'm low on funds, though, so if someone else volunteers, I'll happily back out.

Just let me know when the time gets closer.

WOO CRAZY. The regular Tonner Edwards must really be selling. I suppose I underestimated the number of people willing to drop 140 bucks on a doll.

an army of Hungry Edwards in my room

*evil glee*

*hasty self-reproach*

[identity profile] arvada.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I am still holding out for a Tonner McGonagall. I want her to exist so. badly.

[identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll be at SDCC the entire time (book promo, ahoy!), so if you want, I can try to get you one.

(I have to check the itinerary, but I'm pretty sure The Husband and I are going to be there on the Thursday "pro day", so that might give you an edge on getting one. I don't know. You will just have to help defend me from the mocking of my spouse with regards to trying to get a Grrr!Edward. ::grin::)

[identity profile] audheim.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll definitely be at SDCC all 4 days plus preview night.

[identity profile] dianesoprano.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh... must... resist... Poison Ivy. Dammit, she's even on sale!

My local Border's is selling the littlest Edward and the littlest Bella together as a set. I was sorely tempted.

[identity profile] cherrysakura5.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Hungry Edward! I will not buy this unless Hungry Edward looks full of Evil hotness. (hopefully disheveled looking.)

[identity profile] mal-contented.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Stunt doubles, maybe? Or physical pieces of your intellectual properties?

You could contract them out to other Shelfian-licensed and Cleoland-approved productions. Make some of that money back!

[identity profile] litlover12.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never seen a person this happy about poverty -- at least not since Amy Dorrit announced, "I've lost all my money, you can marry me now!" :-)

[identity profile] onlove.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm going to SDCC on Thursday, so I could try but after hearing what a clusterfuck Twilight caused before and that there are only 200 dolls... Like I said, I can try, but I also don't want to be fatally wounded by a 12-year-old girl.

Also I am only there on Thursday so if there is a lottery, or it's done on any other day, I'm out of luck.

[identity profile] sushixpack.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Jesus CHRIST, Cleo! NORMAL Tonner Edward is already a hungry hungry harpy! I can't imagine what an Edward SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TOP BE ALWWAYS HUNGRY would do to your stuffed animal and doll collection.

[identity profile] chulacabra.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you see this tweet from Peter Facinelli? (http://twitter.com/peterfacinelli/status/2119139163) I love how the whole cast snarks on the franchise.

[identity profile] foresthouse.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
They did (I think) 2 lotteries the day I was there for NYCC - I think I mentioned I'd tried to win one of them for you once I found out. :) They give out about...3? I think it was? of the bigger dolls. So I am guessing at SDCC they may do a couple of lotteries a day. If someone stops off at the beginning of the first day and asks, I am fairly sure the Tonner folks will tell when in the day the lotteries will be called (you have to be there to win) and also they *may* tell which dolls will be given away. I am not sure if they'll do a lotto for such a new doll, but it never hurts to ask. Good luck!

[identity profile] kitrinlu.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Edward army? That's so high on the Epic Lulz scale that it's off the charts :D

[identity profile] tanz-fanatika.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Dammit, Robert Tonner! Stop painting Edward's eyes black and repackaging him for maximum money-making potential! I WANT MY ALICE AND I WANT HER NOW. No time for this Edward variant shit. ALICE.

[identity profile] foxo11.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm all for the army of hungry Edwards. That would be creeptacular.

[identity profile] rina2o6.livejournal.com 2009-06-12 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Man, I don't know how you sleep with two of those in your room. You're far braver than I am.

I really hope this doesn't seem out of line, but have you ever thought about switching to a blog that uses ads? I know blogspot allows you to put ads on your page and the amount you get depends on the traffic of the site and, to an extent, the amount of people that click on the ads. With your following, I feel like your Tonner jones would be set for life.

Aw, syphilitic donkeyballs; the picture's gone.

Peter Facinelli suggested on his Twitter that they play "Single Ladies" when Edward leaves Bella in New Moon. Someone made a nice clippy video for it.
