Lazy day

Nothing much to report, except that I got two (small, not Super Secret) packages in the mail today (thank you, [livejournal.com profile] batwrangler and--Margaret? I don't know your username?--!) and I'm feeling a bit sludgy and writer's-blocky. Ah, well.

Thanks for letting me know it arrived!

Hee, thank you. I think I've almost got the hang of the paperclip. : )

I tried a bunch of alternatives, but the paperclip really seemed like the simplest solution.

Hee, yeah--I think I even know what I want to do with [it]. You know the first time Edward speaks to Bella in the movie, and he sounds kind of... I don't even know? Well, I like to think that Alice coached him on what to say, like, the night before or something. "No! NO! NO BABBLING! Just 'HELLO. MY NAME. IS EDWARD CULLEN.' LOOK, I WILL WRITE IT DOWN FOR YOU." Which may be why he kinda sounds like he's reciting it phonetically.

So... without saying what [it] is, you can imagine what we might do with it.

Yay!

Oh, man, I can't wait until the NECA Alice comes out, because you writing Alice will be sheer awesome!

Just wanted to drop in and say thanks for the Secret Life of Dolls! You rock.

I got hooked on your Movies in 15 Minutes after someone linked me to PotO in 15 and I can still remember how hard I laughed at the subterranean pony - and I am LOVING Secret Life. Team TLE all the way!

[identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Aw, thanks. : )

[identity profile] jubilantia.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Awww, sorry you're feeling bad. It's good to know New Edward hasn't eaten you. Yet.

BUM BUM BAAAAAAHM.

[identity profile] madelrocio7.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
OMFG WRITERS BLOCK IS THE DEVIL!

BTW, I think you might find this funny: I was talking to a friend yesteday and we ended up talking about fandoms and Harry Potter and Twilight and then my friend says, "Does the name Cleolinda mean anything to you?" and I started screaming. And then she started screaming. And we started talking about how amazing you are. And the Littlest Edward. And Movies in 15 Minutes. AND the Twilight recaps.

We ♥ you. :)

Sucks that you're not feeling good. *sends hugs*
Otoh, obviously the dolls haven't killed you or each other yet, and Giant Edward hasn't eaten you, so that's an obvious bonus :)

Not sure if you've seen this, but it made me think of TLE, and that it might help bulk up his masculine associations with MLP.

I stared at that for five second with a complete :O look on my face. And proceeded to bite my clenched fist to keep for lol'ing all over the place.

The tagline makes is so perfect, too.

I have now gone through that entire website archive and it is so painfully addictive...

I did the same thing!

I took a looong walk in the sun today and now I am vaguely headachy from it, ooooh. BUT! To cheer us both up (well it amuses me at least), have a sparkly icon. *g*

Random Twilight Anecdote

[identity profile] labonnefille.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
I thought you might enjoy...

With all the non-cannon lulz that are so ingrained in my perception of Twilight, I often forget that it really is a rather...innocent? YA novel.

Tonight, I'm working an event for girl scouts at the local science center, and response to a somewhat "stupid question" (intentionally so) about how to get somewhere on site, I reponded that the use of magic was probably their only option. Then the group's middle aged chaperone mentioned something about dazzling, and all the 10 year old descended into twittering fits of ahhs and giggles...

...and then I showed them my Twilight keychain and became the coolest adult ever.

I believe the Margaret in question is me -- I just went looking for my address labels last night and realized I had completely failed to put my screen name on there as well. Not one of my brighter moments. In my defense my kitten had just discovered packing tape and was "helping". Hee.

Glad to hear it escaped the vortex that is my local post office!

[identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 10:47 am (UTC)(link)
Aw, kitty!

(Thank you so much! One of the two smaller things will appear in the next entry, I think. The larger thing will come in soon--I just have to figure out how to set that up.)

[identity profile] hespiria.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
Feel better soon!

I just thought I would come out of lurking and just say that your Secret Life of Dolls is absolute <3 and it never fails to brighten up any day:D

Lemme show you guys what a Crazy Doll Lady really looks like

[identity profile] dylan-weir.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, this is disturbing, and I apologise for potentially killing anyone's lovely weekend buzz, but has anyone seen this? http://laurensbite.blogspot.com/2009/01/why-i-will-always-defend-edward-part-2.html

This woman's had an Edward action-figure that has his own blog for a while. She refers to him as pocket-Edward. And yet, she's the like the Anti-Cleo. So crazy. (Shall I start with the dizzying background, hm? Her adamant stance that the character of Edward Cullen is not abusive, or a stalker? And that, even if he were, who wouldn't want to be stalked by that (?!))

Re: Lemme show you guys what a Crazy Doll Lady really looks like

[identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 10:49 am (UTC)(link)
I've heard of Pocket Edward--I think I linked to Twilight Lexicon mentioning her--but I've never read any of her stuff (that's my general policy, "don't read stuff that's similar to yours, it could bite you in the ass later"), so I don't know anything about how she writes him.

And yet, she's the like the Anti-Cleo.

Strangely, my real name is also Lauren.

That just proves that she's your mirror universe Evil Clone, right? I mean like Spock and Evil Spock in Mirror Mirror.

Well, I couldn't bring myself to read beyond a couple of sentences, so I'll have to take your word for it.

[identity profile] jabberwockypie.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't read any of it, I just like the idea of Mirror Universe Evil Versions. Preferably with goatees.

Yeah, I was a little worried that by introducing Anti-Cleo to Cleo that something weird might happen to the space-time continuum.
The Pocket-Edward blog could pretty much be summed up as: unironic Twilight fan takes her Edward doll everywhere and takes each possible opportunity to point out she has a husband.
The Edward doll is less of a character, and more of a totem.

[identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com 2009-04-20 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Uh... I'm happy for her, I guess?

I don't have a husband and I don't take TLE anywhere at all, so... this is pretty much more evidence that I might be her anti-matter.

(Icon directed at Edward, obviously. I should really change it since every time I use it I have to give a disclaimer that I'm not aiming the icon at whoever I'm talking to. >_<)

Also, she vehemently insists in the first post there (about why she'll defend Edward to the end) that he isn't abusive and isn't a stalker. On abusive...well, okay. I could argue that a lot of his protectiveness goes way over the line into borderline-abusive possessiveness, but whatever.

But him not being a stalker? Even Edward calls himself a stalker. Her whole long paragraph there basically just says "He's not a stalker. Because he's not, and also because he's Edward Cullen and therefore who wouldn't want him climbing into her room to watch her sleep?" *raises hand* Me. I wouldn't.

Pay attention, kids: it's not stalking if the stalker is hot.

Re: Lemme show you guys what a Crazy Doll Lady really looks like

[identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com 2009-04-20 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah... that really is weird, given that he spends much of Midnight Sun CALLING HIMSELF a stalker. Dude, even he thinks he's creepy.

Pay attention, kids: it's not stalking if the stalker is hot.

I had a girl in my theatre group actually tell me that. (Exact words: "If he was as hot as Edward Cullen, I wouldn't care if he climbed through my window!")

I died a little that day.

someecards vs. Martha Stewart

I'm not involved in this, but I thought it's hilarious ... and maybe you'd want to spread the word.

Wanted to come out of lurking to comment on something that wasn't ridiculously overcommented and would then not be read, but I really love your updates, they're one of the few reasons I keep my lj, although I never update. Even for slow writer's-blocky days, just wanted to say thanks!

[identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com 2009-04-20 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
Aw, thanks. : )

(All comments go to my email, though, so I do read all of them.)
