I know what you mean: I think everyone occasionally wonders about the "too late" kind of thing as they get older. But I try to remember that good things can happen at any time and sometimes when you're not expecting them. Like my sister winning that poetry contest recently. I mean, she's been writing for years, and it would have been great if it happened earlier; but maybe now was the right time for it to happen. Or my getting involved in the Discworld Convention - it's a great experience that I certainly never thought about before it happened. You know? Not that reminding myself of that helps all the time, but it does sometimes.
