I'd hate to see Lautner recast but I see the problem. Fortunately the wig goes away sometime during New Moon, right? Since he cuts his hair when he joins The Gang? And he never actually has to cause any romantic conflict until Eclipse -- meanwhile during New Moon he can not only be growing up but also, you know, actually having something in common with Bella.
I don't see how they can possibly make all four movies, though. We all know how messed up the last two books are (no way is the "imprinting" thing gonna fly with Quil and Jacob) and the second book keeps Edward hidden for almost the whole thing, which makes me happy and millions of teenage girls mad.
