You and Cleo would have loved that class (except for the fact that most of my classmates were very poor writers, and my peer reviews included comments like IF YOU WOULD LEARN TO PUNCTUATE, IT WOULD GREATLY IMPROVE THIS ESSAY, HOR. Except not really. But I wanted to write that).
The topic was the relationship between Hollywood and 20th century literature. We read (as I recall) The Day of the Locust (West), Vineland (Pynchon), The Moviegoer (Percy), White Noise (DeLillo), and Fight Club (should I bother to name the author? Ok, Palahniuk, because it's such fun to spell). We saw "American Beauty," "Fight Club," "Day of the Locust," and a bunch more that are escaping me at this late date.
