I liked Superman Returns. Yes, you could have cut 30 minutes out of it and still had a good movie, but I think the extra time was nice. But then, I don't think of SR as a typical summer action movie, I thought of it as more of a nostalgic romance, sort of like Casablanca with bullet time. I think Singer made the mistake of putting too much hope on a sequel to appease the action fans.
